Greetings fellow PPMers and hockey fans,

With the NHL playoffs starting Wednesday, I thought we'd return to the annual tradition of a NHL playoff prediction competition. Last year we held three separate competitions, one for the first, the second and the third + fourth rounds. This year, I'm upping the ante but the prize will be upped to match.

A prediction form has been produced and you can submit your predictions <HERE>. Reading below you'll find the scoring settings, rules and prizes explicitly stated.

Scoring:

Prediction rankings will be determined by the following point allocation. For each correct prediction, the manager will accumulate the appropriate number of points from that round.

Western and Eastern Quarterfinals - 2 points per correct prediction (16 point maximum)
Western and Eastern Semi-Finals - 5 points per correct prediction (20 point maximum)
Western and Eastern Finals - 10 points per correct prediction (20 point maximum)
Stanley Cup Champion - 20 points for a correct prediction. 

A perfect bracket will result in amassing 76 points. However, an incorrect prediction at the early phases (where a correct prediction is worth less) will have a ripple effect on later predictions so choose wisely!

Prizes:

Stated below are the bare-minimum prizes. Depending on donations from the community, these prizes may change but will only increase in quantity of prizes and/or value of each prize. If the number or value of prizes is changed, it will be done so <HERE> so check back on this link periodically.

1st Prize - Free ProPack for 6 months for all the teams of more than 50 experience (180-640 credit value).
2nd Prize - Free ProPack for up to 2 teams of more than 50 experience for 3 months (95-180 credit value).
3rd Prize - Free ProPack for 1 team of more than 50 experience for 1 month  (50 credit value).

If there is not a Canadian or American manager in the top-3, I will provide an additional 2-team, 3-month prize to the top North American manager.

Rules:

• Managers are responsible for their submission including the correct spelling of their username. Any username that is not an exact match will forfeit their prize - I am not searching for variations of an incorrectly input username which includes whitespaces and capitalization.
• Managers are responsible for making sure their selections make sense and are physically possible. For example, if they select MIN to meet STL in the western semi-finals this is clearly not possible as one of the two will be eliminated when they meet in the quarterfinals.
• Multiple submissions will result in disqualification from any prizes.
• Deadline to submit is 18:59 EDT on Wednesday April 15th (just before opening puck drop).
• If tied, tie-breaker is team with the most success in the later rounds.
• If still tied, tie-breaker is team that registered first.
• canucks357 has the ultimate authorithy on who wins and all decisions are final.
• canucks357 has the right to reject submissions he feels violate the integrity of the competition for any reason stated here or otherwise.
