How to use special tags

How to use special tags

It’s been a long time since “special tags” were added to discussion pages as well as to each manager’s homepage, but there are still many managers unable to use them. This article shows how to use them properly and effectively.

Special tags are icons (there are eight of them – connected ovals , a figure , a hockey symbol , two puck symbols , a football symbol  and two symbols containing a football ) under the box reserved for your message. When you click an icon, you will see a special text in brackets added in the text entry box (always at the cursor position). In this added text, you always have to delete everything behind the EQUALS sign (=), except for the right bracket. I will give you detailed information on each case specifically (the numbers used in the examples are those used by me or those of my players and staff).

  •  Link (webpage) – When you click the two connected ovals, the following will appear in the text box: [link=url] – replace “url” with the webpage address you want to show (make sure you don’t delete the EQUALS sign and the right bracket). Instead of “url”, you can add the link in three different forms:

·         With “http” and all that goes with it (http://www.powerplaymanager.com/)

·         With “www” (www.powerplaymanager.com)

·         Without “http” and “www” (powerplaymanager.com)

It should look like this: [link=http://www.powerplaymanager.com/] or [link=www.powerplaymanager.com] or [link= powerplaymanager.com]

---

  •  Manager (real registered user) – When you click the figure, the following will appear in the text box: [manager=id] – replace “id” with the number you find in the first line of the table for each registered manager (i.e. when you click the manager’s profile and see “Manager ID”). The number can range from 1 to …..; the more managers there are, the higher the number could be.

It should look like this: [manager=185749]

---

  •  Hockey_team (a hockey team allocated to a manager) – When you click the symbol with two crossed hockey sticks, the following will appear in the text box: [hockey_team=id] – replace “id” with the number you find in the first line of the table for each existing team, including blocked teams (i.e. when you click the team profile and see “Team ID”). The number can range from 1 to …..; the more teams there are, the higher the number could be.

It should look like this: [hockey_team=5054]

---

  •  Hockey_player (a player of a hockey team) – When you click the puck symbol, the following will appear in the text box: [hockey_player=id] – replace “id” with the number you find in this way: open the player’s profile (click his name); in the second line of the player’s profile (the first line contains “Player profile” plus his name), you will see a number, written in grey, in parentheses – this is just behind the “Scouted status” symbol (either a grey X, or a green check mark over a magnifying glass), a flag showing the player’s nationality and his name. This number is the player’s ID. Please copy and paste it without the parentheses.

It should look like this: [hockey_player=1860086]

---

  •  Hockey_employee (a staff member of a hockey team) – When you click the puck symbol, the following will appear in the text: [hockey_ employee=id] – replace “id” with the number you find in this way: open the employee’s profile (click his name); in the second line of the employee’s profile (the first line contains “Staff member profile” plus his name), you will see a number, written in grey, in parentheses – this is just behind the “Scouted status” symbol (either a grey X, or a green check mark over a magnifying glass), a flag showing the employee’s nationality and his name. This number is the staff member’s ID. Please copy and paste it without the parentheses.

It should look like this: [hockey_employee=132545]

---

  •  Soccer_team (a football team allocated to a manager) – When you click the symbol with a football in the middle, the following text will appear in the text box: [soccer_team=id] – replace “id” with the number you find in the first line of the table for each existing team, including blocked teams (i.e. when you click the team profile and see “Team ID”). The number can range from 1 to …..; the more teams there are, the higher the number could be.

It should look like this: [soccer_team=1084]

---

  •  Soccer_player (a player of a football team) – When you click the football symbol, the following text will appear in the text box: [soccer_player=id] – replace “id” with the number you find in this way: open the player’s profile (click his name); in the second line of the player’s profile (the first line contains “Player profile” plus his name), you will see a number, written in grey, in parentheses – this is just behind the “Scouted status” symbol (either a grey X, or a green check mark over a magnifying glass), a flag showing the player’s nationality and his name. This number is the player’s ID. Please copy and paste it without the parentheses.

It should look like this: [soccer_player= 22021]

---

  •  Soccer_employee (a staff member of a football team) – When you click the football symbol, the following will appear in the text: [soccer_ employee=id] – replace “id” with the number you find in this way: open the employee’s profile (click his name); in the second line of the employee’s profile (the first line contains “Staff member profile” plus his name), you will see a number, written in grey, in parentheses – this is just behind the “Scouted status” symbol (either a grey X, or a green check mark over a magnifying glass), a flag showing the employee’s nationality and his name. This number is the staff member’s ID. Please copy and paste it without the parentheses.

It should look like this: [soccer_employee=140730]
