Hi everyone
I'm leaving the game due to time restaints among other factors. Thanks for the fun times.
I do want to draw attention to what I believe is disgraceful behaviour. I hadn't been on in a couple weeks. Basically last 2 rounds of playoffs and the relegation/promotion games. RL does catch up with you. LOL
So I checked today and behold I won both relegation games BIG. LOL the teams pretty terrible.(mine)
So I look in game summary. Same tactics for 2 weeks he picks the WORST choice versus me. He has a 406OR goaltender. He starts a "stiff" instead. The other manager "tanked" so he wouldn't go up to division I.
This thread is my last and is meant only as a place to discuss this practice for those who will continue playing. No need to direct coments to me as I will not be reading them. But this practice of tanking I find completely unsportsmanlike. You may share your views with your fellow managers as you wish
Thanks again everyone.
Stan

Stan, first of all I'm sorry to see you go. You were one of the guys who helped me along when I first started, and were very insightful with regards to the inner workings of the game.
I have to admit though, my first "promotion" game I wasn't sure if I wanted to try. I played low, and lost. After that, I had a bit of a bad taste in my mouth and started trying.
I can see how people would want to stay down though. The money difference of languishing in an upper league is not sufficient to try to make it into the upper leagues.
I think if we had the devs increase this, you'd see more people trying.
That being said, I wish you adieu, even though you've said you won't read replies.
PPM will miss you.

I commented on this in another thread and fully agree with Stan. If it is beneficial to lose then the devs should look into fixing the economics. Best idea I could come up with for a fix would be for each team to lose 10% of their OR at the end of the season multiplied by the level of their division (i.e. division I = 10%, div II = 20%, etc.). I think that would fix the finances without creating imbalance.
Don't worry too much about the sandbagging, A team did that end of season three to move down to III.2 this past season. They dominated throughout the whole year, just to plan, but I let karma catch up to them and beat them in the second round of playoffs this year. Now they are stuck in league III.2 again. Remember, karma is a bitch.
And to you stan, never really had much interaction with you but it sounds like you were a great help to other canadian managers early in the game, and it's too bad you are leaving the game.

i think you should decide whatever you want if you want to loose then loose you'll be a looser and i will never leave my team alone for a looser

Yeah, Stan helped me get started, and gave me advice, but I do get where he's going, wanting to lose, so you can just destroy the next year, well, thats the way it is, do good, and see where you can go, and yes, karma will come around if you lose on purpose.
The problem with bigger OR boosts for teams in higher divisions is that it makes it even harder for lower/newer teams to climb the ranks.
I have no problem with teams being losers. If they don't want the sponsorship money for being a Div. II team, so be it. I can't say I understand why they bother playing the game if they're not playing to win, but if they aren't standing in my way of advancing I won't complain. I suppose they do limit the division to relegate up only 1 team instead of 2, but in my mind these teams will eventually be overtaken. I could be wrong, but that's how it is in my experience.
