I think the server overload is much lower this way.
Now you have to run the aging procedure once per season, with individual birthday, that same procedure would have to run everyday.

Well it could be done with during the downtime at night. The load over a season would be about the same I guess, 1/112 asuming the players are correctly spread.
Popeye: I dont know what you are talking about with real life year and so on.. I am of course talking about the ppm-game. Instead of all players changing age and cl at day 112->1 it would be done on every day. For example day 56 or day 23, depending on when the players is generated

I got you now. It could be more interesting, but as Larsson said it could be tricky for servers, and who knows what kind of work should be done for all to run smoothly.
