Gosh, those wins are hard to get - loosing in overtime by 2 while leading by 6 at some point in the third but got our 2 C fouled out and Adam our PF starter. Last 2 games were very thigh - promising! We really need an input at SF though. Still waiting for our first win in finals

xSakic19x

Michaud for SF next year will be really good.

habsdabest

Tough game, Craig had 2 FT with 6secs left with the score tied but missed both to send it to overtime

lenoir24

I know!!! I believed we had it... But not :-(

lenoir24

Agreed, already one of the best in Canada. This will help us a lot. I think we build good chemistry this year, we are closer (in score) than the first time we qualified. Does not need much more to start a winning sequence

habsdabest

I'm looking to try and start to build a winning culture in basketball Canada. Something like we have in hockey. I'm going to go thru every player I think may be useful to the NT team and what their future might be.

First Ive noticed alot of our players aren't built to the best of their abilities and this really hurts us. I will go over what the recommended trainings are. Kept in mind small variations don't hurt but big ones do. Also SHT and BLK is still being figured out so feel free to change it up a bit. Here goes

PG

5-3-10-8-8-2-2

SG

6-4-8-8-6-4-4

SF

5-5-6-6-6-6-6

PF

4-6-4-4-6-8-8

C

3-7-2-4-4-10-10

If we follow this training as a guideline we will become successful, I promise. As a bonus your teams will also do better ☺

habsdabest

SF

Stu Fisher - Tall, good shooter, but lacking in the blk stat. Slightly unorthodox training but not too crazy that it hurts his effectiveness too much. Will still play a staring role for one more season but will soon take a backseat to younger blood

Tristan Bellaire - Getting old, will still be a 3rd/4th string next season but that should last only one more season before he will become no longer useful

God Lisbie - time to hang up the jersey a 2/6 CL and is already much lower OR then even some  U17 players. He had a good run

Dwayne Michaud - Our best at this position, a shame he went to 4/6 early in his career. Should be in a staring role for a few years before his lower CL effects him too much

Daniel Gilbert - not sure if he's gonna be a SG or SF, I think it depends on what height he ends up at. Currently being trained as a SG but was previously a SF so he's stuck in the middle. If he ends up a SF he will eventually surpass Michaud  with much better CL and better Qs. A bonus was landing on a top team in the world

Devon Nesean - With great Qs at 87% and on a team with great facilities he will play a prominent role for the U19 team next season and then will be thrusted into top role on the senior team

Justen kilmurray - great Qs but his lack of speed really hurts him. If fixed he could be a useful piece on the senior team

David Stefan - Man what a waste. Amazing Qs but on a team that hasn't been able to train him good enough. Could still be salvaged if traded but at this rate I just don't see him ever being good enough

PF

George Adam - Well a true superstar in PPM, should be the leader of our team for another year or two before youngsters start to catch up

Jorden Hunt - Part of our dynamic duo at the PF position, he's slowing down due to CL. After one more season some youngsters should surpass him but will still be useful for a few more seasons.

Mitchel Peer - Our best youngster at the position.  CL still 5/6 as a 20yr old so should keep growing and surpassing Hunt after another full season. Training wise while I understand some people train technique higher on PF and C to offset fouls, his training of technique is overkill to the point where it starts to hurt his effectiveness.

Reuben Desrosiers - A useful PF with good exp, but his days as being useful on team Canada is over, might still be kept as depth but we should look for younger options.

U19

Jarrett Petit - 6/6 CL as a 18yr. Will be useful to the U19 team next season. Not sure how useful he will be to the senior once he gets there as he may get surpassed by younger options before he surpassed our stars at this position, but depth is good.

Jarred Jacques - good youngster with good Qs should fall into the same category as Petit as a depth player but never staring role

C

Freddy Boyle - Our highest OR C but not the greatest in training. Shooting is far too high for a position that mostly shoots from near the basket, technique is a little high aswell but seems Gold Fish likes his technique. He's turning 26 and is a 3/6 CL  so growth is slowing down. Still useful for now but finding new younger options would be nice

Anton Craig - Used to be a great option at C until his training start suffering. His Agr seems like is the only thing being trained, also has too high of shooting for his position. Like Boyle, look for better younger options at C

Troy Coyle - With the improper training of guys ahead of him on the depth chart, he could become very useful to team Canada with proper training and good CL. He should get some playing time next season.

John Paul Poitras - Well trained(SHT a little high) and high experience but is getting passed on the depth chart by younger options, might be useful for 1 more season but his national team days are almost over

U19
Barrett Dempsey - I would consider this guy as our #1 option at the C position next season. He's tall and young and his Qs are good at the right attributes. Should be a maintain on team Canada for years to come

Maverick Leacock - He's younger and probably better then Dempsey but still has another season on the U19 team before he makes the jump. Expect him and Dempsey to be our go to guys for a few years on the NT at the C position

Miles Devaney - 4/6 CL as a 18 yr old, but still a great young talent.  His training is off, tech and spd too high compared to agr and Jmp. If not fixed he won't be much use to our NT

SG

Maximus Long - Our best for the time being. Properly trained and good experience but is old with low CL and not on a top team anymore. One more season, maybe 2 at most before he becomes expendable

Darrion Loewen - young with great OR but his training is hurting. SG need to have good shooting with all the 3 pointers they take. He is seriously lacking this skill and it shows in his number. If training is fixed he may be useful but I personally think he hurts us more then anything

Brant Masson - great training and a useful player but is getting to the point where younger options are surpassing him. Depth player for now but will soon hang em up

Bailey St Jaques - Was once one of our best. But now I'm thinking it's time for him to hang em up

U19

Zachary Chalk - great young player but is at opposite end of the spectrum then Loewen.  His shooting is just way too high and his main stats too low. Could be useful to the national team but with all other stats so low, would be hurting the team

Allen Belanger - great Qs,  training needs a bit of tweaking but he's a player who could be great for us for years to come

PG

Roy Beaumont - Is already our best and at 20yr old 5/6 he will be great for years to come, blk a little high for PG but that's just me being picky

Quentin Fenton - Our second great young PG. We won't have any worries at this position for years to come with these 2 in the fold

Ron Grose - has fallen to a depth player but has been great for our team, will be a depth player for maybe another year or 2

Blair pelletier - in the exact same boat as Grose

U19

Todd Gilbert - joining Fenton and Beaumont as a great group of PGs that will be on the NT for years to come

Cory Casey- as an 18yr old 6/6 he's a great young player who will only keep getting better, if not for such depth at this position he would be the PG of the future, but instead he's just another PG

U17

PG

Alejandro Hansen -Another great PG and only 16. His blk and sht are too high but he is young and has lots of time to change

Roy charlery

Only 15 and 470 OR. On a team with great facilities so he's a youngster to keep on eye on

SG

Noel Deschamps - Would be #1 on the NT for SG but still has 2 years at the U19 level before the NT gets to enjoy him. Will be our leader for years to come

Kristoffer LeBlanc - another great 17y old at SG. Is also good enough for the NT but will help the U19 team for 2 years. Not the pedigree of Deschamps but still a staring role once he hits the NT

Vincente Ferraro - great Qs and picked up by a top team. Still a little short but will grow and will make the NT as soon as he becomes of age, will only be a depth player however as its a stacked position

Amarion Tremblay - A huge injury derailed this great player but doesn't stop him from becoming a star. Still only 15 and 89 AVQ. Will eventually become a star with Deschamps, just needs time

SF

Simeon Oginski - 4/6 at 17 and since his transfer his training has been derailed. Wouldn't be mentioning him but our SF position is so weak he might still become a player on the NT

PF

Westley Harle - making the switch to PF due to amazing growth. 90% AVQ, doesn't get any better. Will play 2 seasons on the U19 team then will be ready to challenge Our great PFs for a staring role

Brennan Ritchie - 6/6 17y old with great OR. With great training facilities he will grow fast. Like Harle will take his skills to the U19 team for 2 years before he challenges the big boys for playing time

Saul Jenson - Another great U17 PF. Might end up just under the other 2 by the time they make it to the senior team, wi be a great depth player however

xSakic19x

"Troy Coyle - With the improper training of guys ahead of him on the depth chart, he could become very useful to team Canada with proper training and good CL. He should get some playing time next season."

I like this. :)

I pretty sad that only 1 of my player is on the NT plan, but it's normal, my Canadian players suck in generals. I would like to contribute more to the NT by providing better players.

habsdabest

You haven't exactly been on the lucky end of prospects as your facilities are pretty good

Looney Tony

Tough day for Czech's. Lose in both Senior and U-19 finals.

xSakic19x

Lost by a Buzzer beater in the senior final.

Thanks for the analysis - save me lot of time this year!!! I'll include that to our NT file which I will update for the next season ! I like the players that are coming from U19! Especially for SF.

One thing that worth being added to the analysis and found important at this level is the size of the players. Most of the successful team at the international level have tall players as close to the upper-end side of their position. For almost the same skills a taller player is the choice to make ! But what I don't know is to which extent? For every cm your opponent has on you- how much more skills you should have? (And vice-versa)?

Looney Tony

Hello

Anyone know when the election is finished.?

lenoir24
