Damm I could have maybe bought Nesean if you sold him later in the season.

Selling him to give Brock Innis full time minutes, my other SF is 89AVQ and was 6/6 at 18 so wasn't getting rid of him. Nesean was odd man out already being 4/6.
Figure he will go for around 200M. The good news is that at that price and considering his age it's almost garanteed that a team with good facilities will buy him. So team Canada shouldn't get hurt much by it.(hopefully no Chinese team lol)
The timing of it instead of end of playoffs is because I have my eye on a player and wanna buy him before I run my camps. Since he's marked for sale after bidding on him I'd have to wait 7 days and he would miss out on my training camp(should still be able to win playoffs without Nesean...I think).

Yeah that's a good reason.
For now I don't have the money to buy him. I'm still hesitating between TC lvl 15 or a good SF. (between 15-22 I dont care) If I get a SF I could finally sells Laroque since I would have more than 2 SF on my team. With bonus, sponsor and a sell I could get 190m.
At least like you said he will go to a good team.

Was just looking at this team[basketball_team=16329] and went thru numbers because I was bored and felt like sharing.
He just sold 2 players for 405M and 389M. However due to the amount of players he sold in the last 70 days, he payed 30% and 35% on them.
35% of 389=136M
30% of 405=121.5M
Total lost 257.5M
If they were 5% he'd lose 40M, that's a difference of 217.5M
That's how much he lost and I compared it to the 2 players I sold recently with only 5% penalty
5% of 350=17.5M
5% of 265=13.25
So in those 2 transfers I made 585M and he made 536M. Basically showing how important it is to plan when u sell ur most expensive guys.
He sold 4 other guys this season (and 3 from last season still within the 70 days).
The 4 sold for
40M
88M
21M
77M
I took out the percentage he would of payed on those guys and he made 187.5M(Not even the 217.5M he lost from the other 2 sales) so why even sell them?
This of course is on a large scale so is a crazy amount of money but I wanted to show how much money u can lose when not planning your player sales. Something to keep I'm mind for everyone, why sell a player when he will only give ya 100k and then the next player u sell for 50M costs you 10% instead of 5% and u lose and extra 2.5M.
Hope this helps some people ☺

Finances. Perhaps he was tight on cash and needed quick cash. Perhaps he was paying big fees? Most likely, he isn't running the numbers as you're pointing out.
I also went thru the numbers of the last 3 seasons and he lost an extra 436M over the 5% in all his sales.
I mostly pointed it out cuz of the crazy amount, but also cuz I see lots of Canadian managers doing the same thing but simply on a smaller scale. It's not as noticeable because of lower numbers but the percentages are the same so should be something everyone should try to look at for their own team.

I don't think I've sold squat in any sport in some time. In hockey I sold my top line and got back only a fraction of my investment. I need to generate more revenue again and worry the guys I'll sell will be worth more to my team than they'll fetch.
Exactly why i'm waiting until Day 11 next season to sell Irons or Xavier. I mean, they're not 300M$, but I highly prefer risking a little loss in value (If they drop at 5/6 or whatever) than selling at 40% tax.
Yea I don't see you very active on the market, just figured that's because you're busy nowadays
I've always been busy
I just don't need to buy guys in Hockey or Soccer and don't have the funds in BB to do it right. In HB I'm saving for facilities. And, when it comes to selling, I always get hosed so I'm not even going to bother.

When it comes to buying players I don't look at will they make my team better. I look at will the investment be worth it over the period of time that I'm thinking of holding him for.
This can work in multiple ways. If buying an older player, is the extra boost he will give my team worth how much I'm paying...If it means I'll be 4th instead of 5th and I'm paying lots then no. Also how long do I plan on holding him and what can I get in return for him. If I can hold him for a season the resell for close to Same then yes.
For youngsters it's different of course. But I look at what he will be worth in 4-5seasons(and I factor in what he would be worth if his CL drops early or if it is
perfect). That's how I decide if the price is worth it. Doesn't matter if I wanna sell in 4-5 or not it's just about his value.
Doing this i think even if you don't "need" to buy players ull end up making money from playing the market(sometimes u lose but it's all about the percentages) which will give u an edge on the competition. Of course this is time extensive.

Was thinking about writing an article about how this game is all about asset management and getting really in depth with this stuff but never got around to it lol
