Subject: Senior Handball NT

So I figured I would start a thread to begin discussion about the national team for handball. first I have some basic questions.
Is there national team play next season?
are there any negatives to having a player on the team? IE lost energy or missed games?
are there any perks to having a player on the team?

What type of direction should we go with the team?
and who are some potential managers for it? (full disclosure if I go for manager it is only to put all my own players on the team... you have been warned!)

any other thoughts? Should we have a separate thread for players? how many players total? how many each position?

So I think we should have a different thread in which to post players, and discuss their futures and training paths. and potential.

depending on how many we can put on the team,
3/4 Goalies,
4/5 Wingers
2/3 Pivots
6/8 Backs

and I assume a few spots for future talent? though I guess all players would be future potential types right now...

I'd say all players who are 15 or 16 6/6 are the targets. 16 6/6 take precedent.

The big question is; do we go for a specialized lineup? All around players for the A team, and defensive specialists for the B team? Or should we target players who will be great at both scoring and blocking?

I think we need to focus on player that can score right now since that for the next 3-4 season no team will have great defensive. But it's only my opinion. then we will do better to have good all around player

My only problem with that is I wouldn't agree to train my NT players (if I had one) as one dimensional shooters.

I wouldn't matter being the NT manager or at least the assistant. Even if we dont choose the best players because we want the ones with the best potentials it's okay in my opinion because the teams will be very equal in term of strenght so anything can happen and the first NT season will only be a matter of tactics and luck in my opinion.

As for players I would like to suggest Kristopher Lacasse . He is a great back and probably the MVP in I.1 this season in my opinion if we look at the stats.

Yeah maybe but still, this player will be older and more experienced in 1 or 2 seasons.

I thought there may be a national team next season, was the main reason I started the thread. but yes it seems a little early for player nomination.

I think one dimensional players may be the wave of the future, but i think that is many seasons off, i certainly wont be training my first batch of players that way. At the same time i agree having good shooters is important, though a strong goalie can win games in this sport.

It may be ready for next season. I think it is 50/50.

It is official. Godot will be running to be the Handball NT manager. I will be running alongside as his assistant. I expect competition to be fierce and Canada's maiden voyage into handball international competition will be in good hands regardless.

I'm no sure how it works but I like to help a bit with the NT. I' d like to learn how it wok so if you need another assistant i'm interested.

I'll be submitting a formal application shortly. Right now I'm just waiting for a name change to kick in (going from NMUUN to Godot).

I do have a plan of action that I think you will all agree with.

It has to get approved by a human being (to ensure to profanity etc.) and is applied on a nightly update. It could be a day or two.

Figured. But it's ok, no rush for the application, deadline's not for a while right?
