Our opponent did not give us any opportunity to dramatize the match today. 4:0. And he played half the match with only 10 players.. Congratulations to the opponents on their productivity. Canada does not have any strong players to attack, who would have a score of 180 - 200. We also lack the experience of the players.

Although I am not the most active on the football game, I really have to wonder sometimes what happens here. A couple of seasons ago we voted in Skipman to be our national team boss, who had just come back to the game, and he abruptly quit and left the ship to sink. Now we boot out the U17 boss who actually WON us an international tournament! I am proud that I voted to keep the guy. When we choose to kick someone out of our country, wouldn't it be a good idea to, at a very minimum, have a back-up candidate to take their place? Canada might not be a football nation, but it doesn't mean we have to be thoroughly dumb...

Both U20 managers are inactive.

Really? We won a tournament with an inactive manager? Well, I will take the dumb points for this one cause it is too late to remove my posting. Pile on folks...

Thanks to the Canadian community for the opportunity to try senior football. I was hoping for a better result from the Intercontinental Cup. Unfortunately, the result was not very good. I hope that the new leadership will do better. Bye

The need for national team managers has become so critical in this country, that I have on occasion even approached other countries to participate in elections where no one is running.

Well, when the opportunity arises again next season we will commit to one of the open jobs if no one else does. Bringing our own special sense of grassball to the table. Ignorance will be our forte...

The Canadian Senior National Soccer team advanced to the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Cup with a 3-0 win in their quarterfinals matchup against India. Canada will face USA in the semi-finals tomorrow.

Canada advanced to the semi-finals and finished with a bronze medal in the previous rendition of the Intercontinental Cup in season 44. Canada will look to better on that 3rd place showing with a win over USA.

L'équipe nationale senior canadienne de football s'est qualifiée pour les demi-finales de la Coupe intercontinentale avec une victoire de 3-0 lors de son match de quart de finale contre l'Inde. Le Canada affrontera les États-Unis en demi-finale demain.

Le Canada s'est qualifié pour les demi-finales et a terminé avec une médaille de bronze lors de la précédente édition de la Coupe Intercontinentale lors de la saison 44. Le Canada cherchera à faire mieux avec cette 3e place avec une victoire contre les États-Unis.

The Canadian Senior National team narrowly edged out their powerhouse Brazilian opponent in a thriller to capture Gold at the Intercontinental Cup.

And what a thriller it was. Canada took an early lead, but Brazil tied it up right before halftime. The game remained 1-1 threw regulation. In extra time, Canadian hopes for the title seemingly slipped away when Jose Carlos Avelar scored with 5 minutes left. However, Canada stormed back with 3 minutes left on the heroics of Edward Greene when he headed a Thaddeus Steele cross to bring the game to a penalty shootout.

In the penalty shootout, it took 7 rounds to determine the winner. In the 7th round, centre back Bruce Lightfoot and goalkeeper Pat "Stumper" Woodcock came out heros. Lightfoot scored on his attempt, while Woodcock gained redemption on Jose Carlos Avellar by stopping his penalty attempt to give Canada their 2nd Intercontinental Cup.

For Canada, this win marks a golden generation for Canadian soccer, with medals in 3 consecutive major championships. Canada finished 3rd in the previous Intercontinental Cup in Season 44, and pulled off a stunning bronze medal in the World Championship in season 46. A total of 19 players represented Canada in all 3 of those events.

Canada will next begin preparations for the qualification stages of World Championships to be held in Seasons 49 and 50.

Et quel thriller c'était. Le Canada a rapidement pris les devants, mais le Brésil a égalisé juste avant la mi-temps. Le match est resté 1-1 en règle générale. En prolongation, les espoirs canadiens de titre se sont apparemment envolés lorsque Jose Carlos Avelar a marqué à 5 minutes de la fin.
