I think it's bacause you leave your wings open. 2 out of three attacking zones are weak on your side. So your opponent needs less chances to score because of your weakness there. Of course you are very strong through the middle but al your attacks on wing (mostly) won't be succesfull....and of course you are a bit unlucky as well not to score through the middle.

Your formation is terrible? I don't know much about soccer, but that looks wrong.

I don't think midfield has anything to do with the way you are defending ! I have 6 players in defense (considering those 2 DMs)...

You had way more shots... especially wide of the net... not the easiest way to score goals

Aside from that, my knowledge in soccer is rather low, but from what i know, letting the wings that opened is always a wrong decision. May not be the only reason though, but it's one reason for sure.

You indeed had a lot of chances, but 8 of 10 shots have gone wide. Maybe unlucky, but improved shooting could help. Your formation is weird also.

this might be a bad on my part, but i had my lineup saved for my league match today, and my centre mid on the market. He ended up being sold, I wasn't around to change the lineup, but i was under the impression that a replacement from the substitutions bench who is designated as a midfielder should have just taken his place and the game gone on as usual with my 4-3-3 formation.
Instead my team reverted to a 4-4-2 with a generic lineup. I still won the game fine, but was just wondering if this was a bug or if this is normally the case.

My pro pack transactions page is incorrect. It shows I renewed hockey for 3 months on May 8th and again in early June for 3 months. In reality I renewed Hockey in May and started football in June. Still have not received a credit for paying for both as I expect. Will I get a credit and if yes when.

thats normal. I do believe the match engine picks the best possible 4-4-2 line up, so it might actually be a good idea to not field players, so the ME picks your best 4-4-2 line up.

Might give you a surprise as to who plays where.

Don't trust the game to pick the best lines. What the game will do is pick the highest OR players and place them... but the best OR players are often not the best players, especially as there is more to a good player than OR. You need to take into account his attributes, his qualities, his preferred side, etc.

paritally true hamilcarbarca, the ME does pick best players, based on main skill (goaalkeeping, defending, attacking, midfield), as far as I'm concerned no sideskills are taken into account

Well, i've decided to test and see what line up i will get in my friendly tonight. I cleared the line up and thus should play with a ME generated 4-4-2. Lets see what that brings.

If it's like hockey, it should choose your players based on primary attribute only (off for forward, mid for midfielders, etc).

I guess it worked, as i got a clear 3-0 win.
