Is it possible to schedule a game for 12/29? There's currently no game scheduled and elections do not resolve until 12/30.
Thank you for the opportunity to manage the U18 national team.
I will be looking through the database and through the rosters and transfer histories of teams on PPM for players to place on the roster. There are two open games with challenges pending.
Anyone interested in the assistant manager position should post on this thread. Prospective assistant managers should be active and experienced.
I will post on all the U.S. leagues' forums to post players 18 and under. Ideally everyone will post and update potential prospects. Even so, I plan to make a list of unscouted players (or scouted players not recently updated) to scout for this year's team and future teams, as well keep an eye out for good pulls from certain teams to scout. Anyone willing to help out with scouting should post on this thread as well.
I will make a more detailed and strategy oriented post once I have a better idea of what I have to work with (before Saturday's game). Please feel free to post or contact me with any thoughts or ideas that could be of help to the team.

Nice to see a new player in the Management ranks. Good luck.
Thanks! I look forward to the opportunity.
I will be looking through and making spreadsheets of the available players over the course of the next two days. I think I might have to fork up the money for a good scout (and his salary) now that I actually have a need for one.

Just ask for help in scouting and we all help. I can scout one player a day.
The uploading function of the national team database does not seem to be working. When a player is uploaded or updated (supposedly successfully), there are no statistics and the player does not appear on the database. I tried on multiple browsers.
I've dwindled down the pool and have placed some of the players I've considered onto the team. That doesn't mean that I will keep all the players I've added; in particular I will likely get rid of a lot of the players under 18 without superstar potential. I've looked through teams in tiers I, II, and IV, including players sold since season 10.
I am generally considering players with 1) 750+ OR (-150/year-below-18) 2) on teams with at least 13-14 training facilities and 12-13 regeneration facilities 3) with 300+ total OR for staff for those facilities 4) with ~85+ AQ (or otherwise unusally high OR to compensate for lower AQ). Players that were uploaded probably got preference to comparable borderline players.
I still need to look more closely at the distributions of the players I am looking at and get a few of them scouted. I also need to focus on the particular depth at each position. I also need to quickly browse through the tier III team, mostly for good players transferred to some other team with good facilities.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a preliminary roster. Right wing and especially center has great depth.
Defensive depth is passable through the first two or three lines, though I could definitely use some more depth; anybody with a halfway decent defenseman should let me know.
Goaltending is passable but will probably be a weakness; there is not much that can be done, though there are a few promising prospects for the future.
Left wing depth is horrible. One of the best left wings I found did not train shooting at all and the rest are all third or fourth line caliber. If anyone knows of any good left wingers that I missed, I could really use more depth at this position.
Shooting is decent overall.
I have quite a few players that will be awesome in the future.
The first game of the season looks like it will be a tough one (due to goaltending alone) against a U20 team.
The assistant manager position remains open for anyone interested.

Finally, there are a few players on the team who that are not on the database and whom I don't have scouted - the first four of them are currently called up:
1) Clint Davis (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=12418810-clint-davis)
2) Primo Dankert (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=12682771-primo-dankert)
3) Warrick Knowles (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=12466120-warrick-knowles)
4) Daniel Cart (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=12576419-daniel-carter)
5) Stanton Staton (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=13296136-stanton-staton)
6) Palmer Combs (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=12468265-palmer-combs)
7) Len Fountian (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=12451719-len-fountain)
8) Allen Maher (http://hockey.powerplaymanager.com/en/player.html?data=15264264-allen-maher).
I would appreciate help with scouting these players (though I should be able to make progress on Clint Davis by tomorrow).
Also, anyone with a great player, particularly a defenseman or left winger (at or above 700) with a good ratio should send me a message.
