Okay, so we are on the same page... The fact of the matter is, you can point at a number of games as huge upsets, but on the whole I would say those upsets make up < 6% of the total results. Which is not a huge deal.
Sure it sucks when it happens to us, but this is supposed to be a realistic game, and sometimes the Atlanta Thrashers do end up beating Detroit. Sometimes Belarus does beat Sweden.
Just keep in mind that for any given day there are thousands of games simulated across the PPM game. Chances are there will be huge upsets on a daily basis given the sheer amount of games played.
4. weaker-team-goalie has a great day (isnt seldom)

Is the new engine better than the old???? I think yes, but the step was pretty small. Surprising results make PPM better, but not this way. Waiting for further engine improvements......
I'm not underestimating them... I'm just saying. They're not a hockey powerhouse like Sweden, but they still managed to win. nothing is a fore sure thing.
Thats right, if somebody would ask me 2002 who will win this game and bet on it, i would bet on sweden, you too. But how much money would it be, if you would think some time about the belarus players? i mean the fact that some of them played in the NHL (=powerhouse), the most of them had international experience on high level (europe, WC, U 20 WC etc.) and all of them learned to play the soviet hockey(=powerhouse).
I am just saying that you have to look on the players behind this result. But if i look at some results on PPM so i see on one side world class players, NT-players and on the other side?...........
