Subject: U20 Canada National Team

Same thing here with my U18, we are well established for the next few years. All the national teams are now in Top division, the senior almost brought back a medal, it's indeed a good time for Canada.

Considering the limited amounts of managers we have its pretty impressive! I'm looking forward to running the team again next season and seeing what kind of damage we can do My exhibition games this season were all against teams from the Top Div and although we lost most of them they were closer games than expected.

Currently I have a better team than last year already. Fantastic start! I'd like to add a couple higher ranked centers. Anyone have any available?

Unfortunately this years squad didn't quite have the firepower needed to remain in the Top tier. For that, I apologize. Looking forward, the upcoming group of youth seems to be a little more prepared to step in and get Canada back to the motherland. I look forward to seeing any players that I'm not already following. Yo, fellow canadianans! I have just been appointed assistant to the U20 team, and the very first thing I noticed is: We are SEVERELY lacking in 19yo defensemen (only have 2 of them), which means our defensive squad for the next season is going to be terribad if we don't work to fix this sometime soon. I don't have that many players scouted here (wasn't exactly planning this, haha), so if you guys think you have a candidate, and would be so kind as to send me a link to them and their stats.

I'm gonna go dig into last season's U18 game reports to see if I can find some, myself, too.

You can check top teams' transfer records for guys who got away and went abroad. We found a couple of guys by searching (esp.) defunct teams from the past couple of seasons.

I've got 18-20 year old D, but not u20 calibre unless you are super hurting.

I apologize for my streak of "can't buy a freakin' goal" bad luck following us into today's WCH game. Ugh. 3 out of 42 vs 4 out of 19. It's a disgrace

Perhaps the goalie sub in the 3rd period was unnecessary... (The gap between Watterson and Dozzell isn't *that* big, though). Well, if they'd had 1 more shot it wouldn't have happened.

We clearly had the better team. The bright side is, they were our strongest opponent. We won't lose another game (unless Ireland's goalie comes in drunk and makes all the saves, too) during the Qualif round.

2nd game loss came as a huge disappointment, and then we totally went overkill in the last game, but as it stands we might need all the goals we can get. Going all in vs Ireland, which is the last opponent in the pool that could really hurt us (unless I'm stupider than I thought and don't understand how this game works. Which, to be fair, I still don't some days...).

I have a feeling the lack of chemistry of our line #3 (and #4, which won't be playing again today) is hurting us big time, because we have a solid team on paper.

btw, for what it's worth, I'm not running for main U20 manager, but I have a deal with lenoir24 to be his assistant next season, would he be elected. So go vote for him, 'kay? :3

It's always difficult to run the U20 teams as it depends on a good chemistry down below (U18 is in good hands since a couple of seasons though. I'll make sure I'll take paulroedb advise for players to promote). Hope with our experience and with all Canadian's managers help we are to be competitive. Will make sure we are going to add chemistry too, not only for the season 27, but truly put in place a 3 years plan, along with the U18 and the senior team managers. But today enjoy our wins in both U18 and U20!

Wow, another goal fest. This time I was happy to see Dozzell step in. At least we know our starter for next season can step up a little...


Looking at Ireland's stats... I think the game actually favors the shooting attribute more than the offense attribute... I mean, 3 goals out of was it 6 or 8 shots? We've had terribly awful save %'s so far Hopefully we manage to snag the 2nd place anyway by beating Lithuania tomorrow.

We've been averaging less than like, 5% shots going in. Today's opposite goalie's rating was atrocious and we still only got 2 out of 52 shots going in...

And I thought my own team's luck scoring goals was bad Can someone explain the past (5 minus the norway one) games to me?

I thought we were hard done by. Nope, I have no idea. My only guess is that Lithuania's tactics % is VERY high on defensive. How high is your normal %?

It's around the 70%, and according to the old school tactics wheel, normal should be the kryptonite to defensive (and I've seen that happen against my team where my defensive is 100%). We dominated the puck possession, and had 3 times the amount of shots they took.

Our guys are just snake-bitten hard at the moment, I guess? :/
