I would consider 50% of the primary as the minimum for any forward.

Allan Travis is better then a couple of the bottom 19 year olds on the team... I am going to play him in a limited role so his exp will increase. it's a long shot player for next year, but just thought I would toss his name in the potential hat.

Harry Henry should be on the team. he has experience in u18 team, and he's done relatively well. his shooting is now pretty much at 50% of his offence

Every player with a lower OR than Travis on the U20 team is a defenceman. Every single one of them. Travis is an excellent player with fantastic qualities and good ratios, but he plays at a position where we have a ton of options. Making the cut as a winger is much more difficult than it is for a defenceman. It's even worse for centres.

Harry Henry is also an excellent player, but again I feel there are better options available to us at that position. That said, either of them could still end up making the team next season.

I don't know if any of you read the excellent article ppm.powerplaymanager.com/... by coldmountainrebel but it comes to the conclusion that team strength has a strong influence on the odds of winning. This reinforces my view that a high shooting ratio for forwards is important. Why? because training shooting is more efficient than training the primary attribute and will help increase the team strength faster than if we focus our attention too heavily on the primary attribute.

Increasing a lines offensive strength by one point requires almost twice as much time training a players primary and secondary attributes than simply training his shooting to increase the lines shooting strength by one point. This means that players with high shooting ratios will provide more points to the total team strength than players with a low shooting ratio.

I selected the team based on who I believe will increase the total team strength the most and not based on who has the highest OR, qualities or primary attribute. If I did then Edward Caskey would be on the team, but he's not.

that's fair enough. i just want to point out that i have been training harry hairy henry shooting exclusively since your last post on feb 15, and so far his shooting has gone up by about 70 (i could be off by +-10), and i plan on training his shooting for a while. i know team canada is stacked on lw, but keep him on your radar just a little bit longer

I was not meaning to be calling you out on your selections, sorry if it came across that way. I am not that active or a top team in 1.1 and just wondered if he had been missed over. I am also just desperate to have a guy on a national team that I either pulled or bought at age 15.
I do thank you for your response and thought on Travis. I knew he was low, I was more just hoping. I will try to check out defensemen more, but they seem scarce everywhere...
