It's actually going to be Greg Giraldo doing it. From the grave. Him and Kenny Rogers. Also from the grave. (what makes it better is he is not dead. Just sort of!) hahaha
Ladies and Gentlemen, I would like to announce the roster of Team Canada for Season 6... Before doing so, I would like to explain the criteria for these selections:
I have a script that I use to manage my team. Basically through various formulas, I try and calculate the best team possible... This "best team" is basically the lineup that will gain me the most Stars. Essentially I'm trying to maximize my OTS rating.
For Team Canada, I plugged in the data that was given to me via the Player Uploader and ran the same script against it. It took quite a while longer as I had a lot more talent to draw from, but in the end here are the players that it came up with, with some minor changes from me:
Goalies:
Noah Tierney
Allan Martindale
Justin Ludlam
Forwards:
Rick Showler - William Beliveau - Steve Whitton
Corey Fortin - Rick Slater - Eddie Mendonca
David Warren - Chris Fenwick - James Dublin
Larry Lukic - Lance Dupuis - Ed Prior
Joe Parlour - Rob McKenzie - Guy Grayson
David Speeding - Brian Little - Émile Marker
Defensemen:
Brian Himsworth - Geoffrey Goodhind
Mike Dubois - Charles Parent
Alex Thatcher - Wesley Chamberlain
Dale Holsworth - Bobby Horsfield
Lawrence Samways - Shane Arnott
Ian Gauthier - Paul Cyrus
As you can see, a couple new faces, which is good. I'm really excited to see what Chris Fenwick can do, and I'm looking forward to getting Guy Grayson and Emile Marker in the lineup as well.
I'm gonna split this post up into two, and talk about the Prospects next.

Now, the prospects were decided using the following criteria:
1) The manager of the prospect needed to have or be currently building a level 10 Training facility. To those who submitted prospects who didn't make it, get building!
2) The prospects most be 5/6 or 6/6 CL. I didn't take any 4/6 CL or older, and the 5/6 prospects had a slight penalty against them since they will not train as good as a 6/6 prospect.
3) I sorted the players by their "Positional AverageQ". Basically I calculated the AverageQ rating, minus the attribute Q's that don't matter (ie- Goaltending for Wingers/Centres/Dmen)..
As well, I made a few cuts based on the players' current attributes. I wanted to pick players that already had a bit of a head start attribute-wise. With that in mind, here are the prospects I selected:
Prospects (17)
Goalies (2):
Marcel Prokas
Charles Weber
Centers (3):
Timothy Weir
Stan King
Dustin Marsden
Wingers (6):
Christian Leroux
Randy Arnott
Collin Neal
Mathew Robert
Carlton Martineau
Myles Leng
Defensemen (6):
Donovan Livingston
Ayden Dorr
Paul Seaman
Eddie Carey
Russell Gilchrist
Cole Tretton
Again, please do NOT be discouraged if your players didn't make the cut. There were a lot of tough decisions that I had to make, and we really have a wealth of talent in Canada, and will continue to have such in the seasons to come.
If you have any question as to why your player was not selected, feel free to message me. I will probably be emailing some managers whose players just missed the cut and explain why, and what they can do to get that player in contention.
Thanks, and GO CANADA GO!

thank you, it's about time
Team Canada will miss the elder Joe Parlour's leadership.
hahahah glad you noticed. So sorry about that last year.

Fans in Guelph protest their absence from this year's club... some going so far as chanting "Go Kyrgyzstan Go"
