I could not agree more! The Market Assistance is a HUGE selling point for pro members over at HockeyArena.
Problem is, when PPM did talk about introducing a market assistant, they wanted to charge people EVEN MORE to use it... which pissed off a whole lot of people.
If they want to encourage people to upgrade... they need to add features like this to make it more attractive for free members to upgrade.
At the end of the day, the extra cost to use it looked greedy... and that is not what PPM want or are. They do acknowledge however that they NEED pro pack members to keep this game going!
So PPM... c'mon, add this feature!

no way... market assistant will ruin all market. if you aren't online then don't but player or bid your desired price. it's so much better when you see your opponent on market. if this would implenting in game there would be no use of any buying tactics to outbid your oponent like imediatly biding or wait till last second bid to fool oponent.
maybe we should change all of the top player markets to end when im actually awake rather than at 3-4am.
It is extraordinarily hard to win a bidding war when you cant actually enter them.

Yep and when we can, players with stupidly huge sponsor deals and loads of money simply dominate the place.
yea i know that is stupid that most of great players in different time zone are selling in bad time but in Europe are most number of managers. popularize ppm in USA and Canada, improve manager number in your nation and maybe soon europeans will need to stay wake till 3-4 am to get great player.
btw answer to this question. do you put your players in market deadline for europeans or north american players?

i actually dont really have a problem with the way things are at the moment in terms of when players sell.
There are plenty of things which would be better uses of time for the devs than implementing a market assistant (like maybe making it so people are not contemplating dropping down the leagues, or providing more statistics like faceoffs % etc so we have more of an idea on how our players are doing).
I just thought your comment regarding "it's so much better when you see your opponent on market." was quite funny since i never get to be that opponent.
Yeah it sucks that all the good players always seem to be sold when im asleep or at work but its a game, theres no way im getting up just to buy a player. Sleep is way too important!

I would suggest Line Tactics. We now have the match tactic which is great, but I think it would be even more realistic if we had line tactics in addition to the match tactic.
I'm thinking more as in the NHL you have the 3rd line be more of a checking line, you know, things like that.

I think the next thing they NEED to do is add line weighting!
Right now all lines play exactly the same amount of ice time, which is unrealistic to how hockey teams are actually run.
We don't need to set the exact times, but maybe something like what hockeyarena do, where you specify the ice time per line.

I agree - with the line tactics and line weight it will get away from the paper rock scissors feel.
Great idea to mke prediction pools for Premier League and FIBA World Championships.
I hope you'll launch a NHL prediction pool too.

Obviously you guys have never seen a market that works well. This one (as are many others) are crap. They force you to be online for 10 to 30 minutes to snag a player, constantly reloading the screen to see if you have been outbid.
You all really think that's the best way?
A better way is to put in the top price you would pay and let the bidding rise to that level. If your bid is lower than the highest bid, you lose. If someone outbids you, you get a chance to re-outbid.
Then the system doesn't have the crush of reloads on every player that is worth anything, and you (as a player) don't need to waste a bunch of time trying to grab players.
While that is not perfect, it at least puts some strategy into your bids, rather than just mindlessly outbidding the latest bid with 1:05 left until the deadline.

Addendum: This should be how it works for everyone, not just pro pack holders. There should be no advantage gained in buying players just because you pay for the game. That affects team building and hence gameplay too much.
I agree that the market system should be more like that, ie/ like Ebay has.
But I also understand that PPM needs features to offer to Pro Pack holders. Being able to set your price and go offline is a luxury and would be a good selling point.
I do think everyone should have a system, but i would understand from a business perspective if it was only offered to pro pack holders

The market assistant was going to be an EXTRA credit feature each time you used it, and no doubt, would have been way overpriced
