I'm not pulling any players <300-350OR and who aren't at least 3.5 stars. I can buy players better on the market for pennies if I really wanted to.
I know exactly how you feel. I got my second 4 star player ever and got really excited before I saw he had 5/6 CL
Ya they're sneaky like that. I have some theories as to how players are generated. Be weary of that 5/6. You get your hopes up for staying 5/6 until 19 years old (18 is max for original CL) and then they'll drop to 4/6 at 17 (the earliest) like my top AQ player did. Thankfully my facilities are still decent enough that the next 4 years he'll train alright. He trains near (or at) the top of my practice page. But ya, 5/6 pulls tear me up inside.
ya, it sucks not knowing how long someones CL will hold up. thats why I hate prospects. I never get good pulls and whenever I try to buy a decent inexpensive prospect on the market their CL drops so fast it becomes a huge waste of money.
How low is your Medical Center? Keeping players injury free helps. You can also think of it as a training center. If you save a player from getting injured thats free training points... take say a 21 day injury at a point a day times 4 of them a year thats 84OR your team wouldn't have without that upgrade.
my med centre sucks, but I don't find that injuries have been hurting me much. but you make a good point and maybe I should build it up a bunch
Give it a try. If it's still at a low level it's cheap and quick. Wouldn't hurt. I value Med more than pretty much everything except training/regen/hr. SA can go to hell haha. Education Center is a waste of money.
At what point does it become useless even attempting to train your academy guys to make your roster? (aside from the 1 in 100 REALLY good players you get) Like say my teams average OR for players is around 480 (too lazy to check), and I'm pullin guys that are on average around 240 OR, its going to take forever for them to even crack the roster.
I have a LOT of foreign players, I think I've played the market rather successfully, getting some good bargains on players for my roster, while actually maintaining a profit on the market over the course of a season. (I'm in the negative on the market for this season so far, but by the end of the season I should be in the green).
I get harassed from time to time for having so few Canadian players. Right now I keep only the players I get from my academy that are exceptional. Players that may actually have a chance at the national team at some point in their career. I guess the dilemna I'm having is; do I start forcing my SA players into my lineup just to have homegrown talent? Or do I keep doing what I'm doing and hope that I can advance my team and facilities faster, thus (hopefully) providing more of the exceptional talent?
long read. sorry. Canucks357 will be the only one that makes it to the end of this novel.

Hehe I did read it all. I wondered where the canucks357 name drop would be. There's always one in your long posts
.
You have to remember that things do take awhile. And this is a marathon not a sprint my friend. I have guys just crack the lineup in season 7 that I bought in season 2/3. That being said I've pulled guys in season 4 that are now the best players on my team. It takes time, but with good facilities in 4+ seasons (or less) and the right game-plan they can make it. Or maybe it's only on a really shitty team like mine they can

As your facilities improve, you'll notice that your young players catch up to your old ones quicker.
