Mike Green of the Caps? He's sort of Canadian
Maybe you meant Greene instead of Green.
If Martin can't go... that d-spot should go to Andy Greene. He's playing as good as any U.S. born defensemen right now.

Yeah, I had some other D-Man in mind -- I don't remember who though. lol. I'll look at the list of "omg omitted!" later.
Yes, just checked that too. Thanks Vlady.
On another note, who here thinks that it's a shame they're playing on an NHL sized ice instead of the more common wider ice used generally in the Olympics.

Me. The teams with many NHL players are going to have the advantage.
i dont really care. I enjoy the NHL size rink. I think the game is more dynamic there. Remember the worlds in 2008? Take the final for example. It was a great game. I dont see a problem with the rink size
Nah, I want to see the Olympic sized ice sheets at the Olympics. I understand the IOC allowed this so that the town could save money, which is very good I think. Nevertheless, I like open hockey and that extra space makes the game more enjoyable for me. I suppose you can say it's just my preference.
Its made for great comedy when a know it all starts blasting certain olympic choices by saying "they are too slow for the larger olympic ice"
In this particular case i'm referring to someone criticizing the choice of Langenbrunner on another site. Trust me, and i think trueblue will agree, if you have ever seen Langer play you know why he's on the team.

Without a doubt. He's still one of my favorite players. This season he's playing almost as good as he did back in his prime when in Dallas. The guy is more than deserving of that spot.
Even as a Wild fan I went nuts when he hit the hat trick on us
yeah. he belongs on the team. one of the biggest mistakes Dallas ever made was trading Langenbrunner.
i actually prefer Olympic sheets for playing. i've played a few pick up games on those sheets. it makes it a much more challenging game. i think it was Turek who said he struggled so bad in his first season because he couldn't make the adjustment for the ice size.

I agree on Langenbrunner, he was my favorite Star before the trade, and he's done nothing but play great in NJ. His problem in Dallas is they couldn't decide to play him at C, LW or RW so he was constantly shifting and not quite hitting it perfectly, but NJ slotted him in and let him play and he's been solid.
agreed. even so, a bad trade for Dallas. no one received in the deal for Neuwy and Jamie lasted more than a couple seasons in Dallas. it was a quick trade for some name muscle...and only Jersey won out of the deal. from my perspective, Langenbrunner has earned a life position on the Olympic squad.
