Tescosmoa, one thing that confuses me in HB. FiP, that is the main stat for all but goalie correct? I hope so lol, that is how I have been training.

What exactly do you mean by 2:1:1, and 4:3:2:1. I keep seeing those, and don't know what they mean.

For instance. Training your goalie would be like this.

4 points in goal 3 in block 2 in Pass and 1 each in tech and speed. And use the same for your posistion players, but on their primary and secondary skills. If you do not train in this way, your skills will not devlop at 100%. Say you do 10 goal, 2 pass and 2 block. You get a penelty for being out of wack. So do your best to train across the board.

Just to clarify, by "penalty" Mordeth doesn't mean that your player commits and in-game infraction which gives the other team a powerplay.

And yeah, those are ratios that you'd follow in training your players. So in handball (4-3-2-1-1 goalie training), if your goalie has 100 goa, he should have about 75 points in block, 50 points in pas, and 25 points in tec and speed.

Another way to think about it:
In 4-3-2-1-1 training, the numbers just get divided into the largest. 4/4 = 100%, 3/4=75%, 2/4=50%, 1/4=25%

So the category training at "1" should be about 25% of the category training at "4."

From reading the guide, I believe that FiP is the main stat for all players except goalies.

I train my players a little different than the strict 4-3-2-1-1 schedule (i take into account their qualities too, but that's because I'm psycho and probably a bit OCD with my training lol), but FiP is still my largest training ratio (and is on par with Goa for goalies).

Honestly, you can probably just shoot a private message to anyone who has posted in this thread.

I can't tell you much at all about soccer as I never started a team there, and my experience is limited in hockey, but I'd be happy to answer any questions as you might have them too.

Click on Information then click on helpers. You will get a list of mentors. Another good resource is to read the D1 forums for usa / canada and international. Read the articles, then go back and read the guild again. Once you have your team scouted out start scouting out the top teams and see how they are training their players. Then scout out some of the younger up and coming teams and see what they are doing for training.

The USA, Canada, and International Q&A threads are good resources too, just make sure to scroll past all the complaining in the International thread.

All good advice. When I started I actually posted in the I.1 thread and asked for some advice since my league's forum was completely dead. I got some really good advice that I'm still using, so definitely check it out. Leggman made some good points with the info he gave me. The III.2 thread has an outline of the tactics hierarchy on page 1. This has been reposted by someone in a more recent thread/position but I can't place where for the life of me. If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer in IM as well. I'm mostly hockey and can offer some info there. For the other two sports, I'm more limited to general advice on approaching the game as my football team is relatively new, and I opted not to make a handball team. Otherwise what tescamosa said as far as finding mentors is great too.

I remember when this thread started...and it was such a mess trying to get any help. I may be in the middle of restart, and I have a lot to relearn about the game. But, if anyone needs help, I will be more than happy to do anything I can. Hockey specifically, soccer generally and handball not at all.

i often message new managers that played at least 20 days with some basic advice. Most of them will not sticky and play but i am sure it helps the few ones that stayed.
