ok. hopefully everyone saw the announcement on what we are looking for. One thing to add, we will need Mentors capable of working with Spanish speakers (i.e. a new sign up from today lists his language as Spanish).
I will probably go back a a couple of days and send welcome messages to the new players. So those who have contacted me already, expect to get a mentee notice shortly. Unfortunately, you may get more than one to work with (let me know if that's a problem). For those who have not contacted either me or BigD, and are interested in helping, please do so as soon as possible so we can have Mentors lined up when we need them.
Thanks for the support and encouragement as we roll this out and establish it. And, thanks for helping out the new managers!

I can help on a limited basis. I do not have the time I would like, but would be willing to help where I can.

OK. Here is a quick update on where it stands.
The messages are being sent to every manager who opens a new account here at PPM. But, response to new player messages is often slow to get moving.
I have a short list of mentors already. Thank you for the responses. Anyone who wishes to be a mentor, read the news announcement to make sure you are able to fulfill the job. Then, please send me a message so I can add you to the list. Even if you express your willingness here, please send me a message as well.
Thank you all for your willingness to help new players and grow the US community here at PPM!

All right, quick update time.
While I am not on the US Support Team, officially, I am still running the Mentor Program. For those who dropped me a pm, I am working through a rotation. As i get responses asking for help, I email whoever is next on my list. Some of you have already been emailed, and your responses have been excellent. THANK YOU!!!
However, I can use all the Mentor's I can get to make this program work. All of US players need to help the newcomers so we can grow as a country in PPM. If you are interested, send me a pm. and once again...thank you for all the help with our new players!!!

and don't forget the job requirements. you can read them at this link if you need to review them:

I could be a mentor, but I have my own training program rather than the straight ratios so I might be a bad influence....
a great point that needs clearing up. first, let's make clear that the goal of the program is two fold.
1. welcome them into the US community.
2. give the new players guidance so that they understand how things work.
there are lots of different ways people play this game. as long as you can teach how things work and the general idea of how to develop a team and facilities, you are golden. the Support Team could really care less what ratio or system you teach (as long as it's legal in PPM)
so, you may have your own methods of playing the game....and even teach them to your mentees. sadly, eventually, they will probably stray from your path and find their own, which hopefully won't crush your heart too badly (lol).
all that is a long winded way of saying you are now on my rotation list, Dark.
anyone else want to help?

I'll try not to corrupt the youth too much. I've used my system in soccer from pretty much the start and it won me promotion against some stronger teams to the top division. We'll see if it works there.
In hockey, my players won't be fully converted until probably sometime next season (maybe the end of this season) so its hard to tell how effective it is at this point, but despite my placement in the standings I'm starting to see some decent results even without the talent to compete in division II.
Well I've derailed this topic long enough.
I'd be glad to help out even if I'm the only submarining sidearmer in the the league. (Sorry for the baseball reference, couldn't think of a decent analogy in hockey)

I have good news...and bad news. The good news is the response rate has been wonderful! The bad news is all those who have volunteered have mentees assigned to them. (hahahaha)
Seriously, though. I am in need of more mentors. And, if anyone who currently has a mentee assigned can take on more, let me know. I don't have anyone waiting for help right now. But, it's just a matter of time.
So, please help grow our community! Sign up to mentor. Read above for the qualifications. And, if you think you're good enough without the experience listed, drop me a note. We'll review and let you know!
