Mhmmmm that was game 4. When things were really on the line where were you? That was my B-squad at the time by the way

Funny looking B-squad since the average GP of your line-up is about 35/38 games last season.
When it mattered, I was finishing 2nd in the playoffs while you were petering out in 3rd.
I have no concerns about my team's ability to compete this season or next. My "as is" lineup will continue to improve with next-to world class facilities, which facilities are set to improve this season.
Expect the Raging Pigs to be near the top of the II.3 standings and, soon enough, near the top of I.1 standings.

Nice.
I'm eager to see what your OTS will be once you play a real line up.
I really think that the experience advantage of the Pigs makes them a team not to be taken lightly.

How does one dominate a league with an OTS around 100?
Hold on a second. I want specifics here.
Which part of what he said is delusional?
1) The line up couldn't have all been "B" because many played 30+ games? I checked the starting goalie and the first line and it doesn't look too far from the truth.
2) That he finished 2nd and you ... didn't?
3) That his line up will continue to improve and be a strong II.3 team for the forseeable future?
4) Or that soon he will be a force in I.1?
"4" might actually be delusional. But the rest seems ... bang on actually.

Have you seen my league?... also I am rotating out players so that younger guys can get experience, but mostly looks at my league...
I was 20% serious about the delusional part... mostly stemming from #4. Regarding #1, my best goalie played 7 games, my best D 10 and the next best 7. After that my top winger 5 games. I had my rebuild started pretty early, but it was after game #4 of the season, so during the game he linked, I was playing an inferior lineup... alas "B-squad".
I'm stirring the pot, quit running to the rescue of a hypocrite. Ya, that's right, I'm calling you on it!
Flashback: Royal City Reds intentionally relegate to II.3 from I.1. PMullings says "how could you do that? I try to win every game!" At the end of the following season, who throws the P/R games to not promote? Mhmmmm. That's right children, PMullings.
I shouldn't lay the hate on too hard as he's become a good friend of mine. That being said, I like a little rivalry and as far as I can tell you're a peace keeper

Thanks. I am gone for a lot of this season so not scared to leave my team on auto pilot now... and I just look forward to the record setting year of my players... I guess. but it might need to have a * next to them...
I'm stirring it up as well. I got my butt handed to me in I.1 and wasn't really a part of the forum discussions. I'm expecting things to be much more lively here.
I am 100% serious that I expect PMullings to challenge you in the playoffs BTW.

Elpatzer: my new best friend in II.3, for sure!
I did play the A-team in the promotional round. I just happened to trot them out with very low intensity. I did, however, play with the utmost intensity in the finals round against Dinomites and saved as much energy as I could throughout the season to have a shot to win it.
Promotion would have, and still would be, awful for my franchise. As I did last season, I will play to win the division, but I view promotion rounds as a different matter altogether.
My rationale is as follows:
Intra-divisional games are against your foes, the teams against whom your team is measured for the season. You play for positioning and then for glory and bragging rights.
Inter-divisional games are against teams that you have not competed against at all; an arbitrary foe which has been playing against teams that had no bearing on your measure of regular season or playoff success.
Against division II rivals, I have the luxury of reducing my per game energy usage. My foe in the relegation game was forced to use energy throughout the regular season just to compete for a non-relegation position. They are diminished by the time they play my team for promotion/relegation. This is not a fair match-up and there is no glory in winning such a game.
If the promotion/relegation game did not take energy into account, I would surely have played to win, but as matters stood, I did not consider it a fair match and I thought it would be a crappy way to move up into I.1 in addition to being costly to my team.
This, in sum, is my retort to being classified as a hypocrite. Suck on it, Scott!

I love having him here - he keeps the forum lively and is willing to give advice for those of us still figuring it out
I do too - I just thought I would give him a poke and keep the forum lively.
