That's what was discussed. Have pulls during the season and none during playoffs. Instead you'd "draft" 5 players which you could keep/discard. How good these players appear to you would be highly dependent on your facility and scouting initiative. This way, there's always a gamble element. Furthermore, teams with weak facilities will have an incentive to upgrade them since you'll get a better idea of player ability.
Discussion is good! But will have to see how open they are to this in the next monthly report.

Trading won't happen. Selling has potential. Problem is, why would you want a 5th round pick in Czech IV.9 draft?
exactly. no one would buy it
it's like asking why would you want a 23 years old 300 OR player

uhm..
1. i don't recall anyone mentioning trading draft picks
2. while i, along with a few others, don't mind DISCUSSING (which involves CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICIZING, and not LABELLING something as "terrible" for NO APPARENT REASON or ANY form of reasoning behind it).. please don't bash one's idea.. you simply STATED it was terrible. now i'm thinking "okay..?" i do not think there would be a chance of abuse.. just like the player market. if something has more demand and less supply, the price will go up. if something has less demand and abundance of supply.. it'll be worthless, and WHOMEVER tries to CHEAT out the system will get BANNED or whatever, like WHAT'S HAPPENING with the player market RIGHT NOW
i used caps to emphasize some of my points.. i'm not mad or anything. please don't mistaken it. no need to start a war on forums (:
have a nice day

1) Sorry, I used the term trading as an equivalent for selling in this game, since you are, in essence, trading players for cash.
2) I did offer criticism for why it is a bad idea. It is way too easy to abuse.
When a person makes a new team, they won't have any really good players to "sell" to the parent company, most likely due to age. However, if they have a bunch of draft picks, the parent team can still get studs from that.
Hence, easy to abuse.
Second, why the heck are you using capitals to emphasize your points if you aren't yelling or aren't mad?
I'm not an idiot, I know how to read.

I have a question about the whole draft idea:
The reason I think it might be difficult is because every drafting team/manager would have to be online at the same time.
For example, each manager would have to pick following every pick, which would also have to be done in a short amount of time since it will happen at the end of the season. Time difference will also be an issue as most managers have jobs, schools, etc.
PPM is rather a waiting simulation game instead of an "instant acting" type and unless they develop a whole new program, I think it might be difficult. How else would it work?

1. no worries. no harm done
2. i guess you could say that.. depending on how you look at it. as i said in my post, if a pick is worth more, so be it. i do get your point though. wasn't thinking till that far aha
second. just so you could see which parts i wanted to emphasize. can't really do that without either all cap, quotation marks, //, ..etc. wasn't implying you were illiterate or anything. that's all
we cool?

I played another sim that did a draft at the end of every season.
What you would do is pick according to position in league (i.e. basement teams pick first, then mid-pack, then top of league).
You get the list of players, and rank your choices 1-5, and it will pick the highest available choice. If you didn't rank them, you get a random choice.
The game I played only let you get one draft pick a season, but every season the free agent pool was re-populated.

copy and paste from the previous page:
maybe each teams can make a list of players they want to draft and set priority on whom they want to draft, and maybe more details like "i will only draft player A if he goes in 4th+ round"
bam!

Of course we're cool, I don't think this is worth carrying a grudge over.
Sorry if my posts are somewhat short too, I'm in the process of moving and currently use 'borrowed' internet from a neighbour.
It is amazing how much stuff a person can accumulate.

That could work. But for teams that pick along the last in the draft, they would almost be guaranteed with a random choice since their top 1-5 choices will have a greater chance of being already selected.
