Oh no I don't take it personal I agree 100% with you. My path was too easy. Now I'm stuck having my ass handed to me for a season.
Under the current system, there is nothing wrong it constantly promoting and relegating. In fact, that's perhaps the best way to improve your team the fastest.
I.1 wasn't fun my last year. Nor is I.1 soccer this year. What helped me was just accepting it and focusing on developing my team as best I can. That way when I had dropped down, I was in good shape!
It also helped that when hockey was losing soccer was winning and now that soccer is losing hockey is winning.
I've submitted January's suggestions to the developers. I should have a reply back in a few days and I'll report back what they've said about the P/R system and potential changes.

Why are you talking about new teams taking 300 days to play? You are missing my point...
New managers belong in IV, but if they are in III. Should they be bunched together so the new managers will promote to II?
I dont think thats fair, and want the teams that are ready to promote to II distributed throughout III. EXP is a good way of measuring which teams are, and are not ready to promote.

Ok so there's something I've been thinking for a while concerning the manager and their Scouting attribute who's pretty useless once you're done scouting half the country.
First, I know the Sporting Directors are in charge of the youth pull we get every week and I don't want to get rid of that when I'll bring the idea of a draft.
The idea I propose goes like this: each season, a group of 40 young guys (2 round) would be available for a draft in the last week of the season. The last team in the standing would get 1st pick and etc. til' the end of the draft. In addition, the ability of your managers for scouting will determine how well you can perceive their ability when draft time comes so it would tempt every ''manager'' to use their managers.
I was also thinking of in season pop-up of your scouting staff that would inform you when they get new information about a young player available in the draft.
P.S: I also like the idea of knowing my players height and weight, even if it wouldnt change anything in the game calculation.

I've always liked the idea of the draft. I've recommended modifying staff influences in terms of expanding it a bit so some staff aren't more or less useless 14 of the 16 weeks. I'll recommend an end-of-season pseudo-draft in February's report to help balance the weaker teams with the stronger teams. I can potentially see them liking the idea strictly due to the fact it would entice teams to promote... higher league means better draft players. The compromise would likely be no pulls from the start of playoffs until the end of the season. The other thing is... you couldn't do a live draft as not everyone could be online. You'd have to "rank" players.
Players name could be available as soon as the new season begin, it would be up to the managers to put the money in their Managers department to unveil these guys attributes. So I guess a ''rank'' your player could be implemented quite easily and people would have all the season to rank them the way they want.
I also like the idea that this would replace the youth pull in the playoff since those players are pulled so late in the season that they almost lose a year in development and the anticipation to pull them is pretty much nonexistent compared to the first half of the season

Can't promote other games.
@MiLLw00d: These players could then be "pulled" as 15 year olds on day 1 of the next season. I think that you shouldn't be able to scout them 100% like current players, but more get a rating gauge of sorts. Something like what you'd see in the player pull accept/decline page.
That way there is some element of chance when you pick a player. You'll see 4* and 350 OR but a confidence rating of 50% (confidence rating could be something that goes up and gets more accurate the more time you "target" a specific player) and a 3.5* 350 OR guy with a confidence rating of 90%.

I like that a lot!!
It might be more complicated but the way I was foreseeing it was in the actuel model of the player page and an unveiling of each attribute and quality of a player ( it would get more accurate as the season goes on if you choose to continue to scout him hard ) the confidence rating would also be a great addition to the chance element so you never get to know a player at an 100% certainty

Which is the point of a draft right? It's one thing to "own" a player when you pull him from your SA. It's another thing to watch a player you are thinking about drafting. I'd even be willing to design the algorithm for it, that is, the mechanics of how everything would work - they'd just have to code it in.
It's written in the Feb/12 report. Now just 28 days until I submit it.
