Woot! Backup goalie JC Augendre stands on his head vs the Americans stopping 47 of 49 allowing the training camp deplete Atomics to steal one in regulation. We got so lucky in this one. The Americans dominated, but couldn't solve JCA. He's worth every penny I paid to keep him when he was a free agent
Yeah, makes sense... Only shot 55 times against a 481 rated goalie for 0 points while my 1100+ gave up 2 out of 16 shots. Thank god ratings and attributes don't mean anything!?

With the starters still in camp, I went for it on VH vs the Pigs and came up short. Damn.
Your goal is to promote so you will be fine and maybe get a bit of advantage when playoffs come.
I don't know if I have the team to promote. It would be nice, but I don't see it happening. I think I was only 6th or 7th in OTS before I sent everyone to camp. I certainly don't think I'll make it if I have to face the Pigs (assuming jim's active) or Burton before the finals. They're +30-40 OTS right now.
The Pigs are going to be my Heroes for the rest of the week as they play both the Blitzkrieg and the All-stars. Thats going to skew the records for a few weeks until everyone has played each other more.
It looks like you are only one goalie away from being able to do some real damage.
I've been working free agency like mad trying to get one, but everyone keeps matching my offers.
It's tough getting good free agents. It's easy to beat out other teams' offers, but convincing the owner to take your money instead of holding on to the player is much harder. Unless you want to bid crazy amounts of money, it seems like mostly just hoping the owning team doesn't log in for a week after you win the bid .

I know in the case of my own FA, it was cheaper to pay to keep him than to go out and get a comparable replacement.

My number 1 center just got done with his first time being a free agent. 8 million is all the top bid was, so, since I gave him some bonuses a while back, I only needed to pay 4 million to keep him locked up for another 3 seasons.
There's just no way I could replace him for anywhere near that cheap, so it's an easy decision to make.
