Suggestions Summary and Feedback: December 2011 and January 2012
Hey guys,
As promised I'm relaying to you the feedback on your suggestions. There have been lots of suggestions in the forum and I've relayed almost all of those to the developers. Below is the feedback I got from Vlady as he discussed them with the development team.
December 2011 Suggestions:
Add contract duration to player search filter.
- “Interesting suggestion, we can add it to to-do.”
Introduce “Tactical Progression” (Reward for playing one tactic... players know it better).
- “Also something we could do in the future. I am aware of this option.”
Add home-ice advantage in the NC, even just for the final rounds.
- “It's a single game, we don't want to give home ice advantage there.”
Be able to build amenities in the rink/stadium when it is only partially completed (parallels R.L.).
- “I don't see this happening. would be complicated and not really worth the effort.”
Suspensions in hockey.
- “Also been on my mind, but first we would need to introduce major penalties.”
Homegrown performance bonus for guys pulled from YOUR sports academy.
- “Don't think this will happen.”
Some control over C/L drops... special treatment from staff sort of thing.
- “There would have to be some limitations or costs here.”
Facility expenses during construction go up incrementally from 0 to full daily expense as a fraction of days to complete.
- “I don't like this. You already paid up front basically.”
Change grass pattern in soccer stadium.
- “Will be possible probably when new site design is launched.”
- When expanding capacity and skybox/vip lounge is rented, sponsor money should be void.
- “I guess this is a bug.”
Fractional in game ratings to a 10th of a point... ie: 7 --> 7.2 or 6.8 for example.
- “I considered this as well, but some mystery should remain I think. Would be too easy to find the perfect ratios then.”
Contract Negotiations of players (offer a value in final week (age<26) and have 3 chances to get them to accept).
- “This would be very difficult to do, because we would have to make some sort of a mechanism that would evaluate the player's price before he goes on the market. I don't see this happening.”
Full C/L history in a summary of the player (all season stats perhaps).
- “We can only offer what we have in the database. It wasn't recorded before that.”
Tags/Links in PPM mail.
- “PPM mail will get a general make-over at some point.”
Retired players can become staff.
- “Interesting suggestion, but maybe for much later when we have nothing better to do.”
Market Lookout (Alerts you when players are close to deadline and meet your requirements).
- “We have had this in our to-do list for ages. just a matter of time really.”
January 2012 Suggestions:
Add a team travel comfort option similar to traveling by school bus vs. luxury bus vs. team plane.
- “Team travel is something that I have been pondering for some time. I definitely see think this could be implemented at some point to make the game more interesting.”
Players age every 112 days (112 days from date of being pulled) and C/L is dropped at this time too. This would reduce server load and reduce the impact of pulling great players the first few weeks of the season compared to the last few weeks.
- “I am not sure this would help the servers. It would mean that player aging and CL drops would happen every day and not just once a season.”
Add new impacts of staff that have sparse use, example SD player training impacts day-to-day so that attribute is used more than 2 weeks of the season, marketing has impact on player salaries etc.
- “Changing the influence of staff attributes is not something we want to mess with right now. People are very sensitive to changes like that.”
Notification when rink/stadium amenities complete. Right now if a snack shop finishes and you can build another there is no warning to let you know it’s been done. These extra days lost are important when it comes to the press centers.
- “Notifications about completion of amenities is a good idea. will make a note.”
Option to save a game to an archive, a favourite game of sort. This way the game summary will never be deleted. Could be a credit option.
- “Option to archive games is planned for the future. It's been planned since day 1, but it's just got a low priority.”
Introduce staff/facility that reduces construction time.
- “Staff/facility that reduces construction time is not a bad idea, but we don't intend to make any new facilities. We could think of many more if we really wanted to, but at some point we need to move on and start working on the next sport.”
Citizenship gained for players who play on a team for 560 consecutive days, making them eligible for the NT (provided they have not played for another NT) and removes the foreign player fee.
- “I don't like the nationality change. Will have to think about it and whether there are any means of abusing it.”
Close to game time, lines can be viewed in “Read Only” mode rather than the current “Can’t Touch This” message.
- “Good idea to view tactics and line-up in read-only mode.”
Requesting improved soccer substitutions page.
- “Soccer substitutions will go through a major facelift.”
Show Head-to-Head stats in the team analysis page of an opponent.
- “Head-to-head games in analysis is something I suggested even before the analysis was implemented. Problem is with database. The page would take too long to load due to a difficult query.”
Notification about WCH final regardless of what countries are playing.
- “Notification about WCH final for all is a good idea.”
Change the branching system for promotion and relegation. With III.1-III.4 going to II.1 and III.5-III.8 going to II.2, there are issues as when league levels aren’t full (ie. 16 div3 leagues, 64 div4 leagues) the higher branches (II.4 for example) are often weaker than others (II.1 for example). Thus use a “remainder” function. That is send III.1, III.5, III.9 and III.13 to II.1, III.2, III.6, III.10 and III.14 to II.2 etc. That way if there are only 10 div3 teams (for example) You won’t have them sorted 4/4/2/0 but rather 3/3/2/2.
- “Different format of promotion/relegation would be difficult if there is not a maximum number of leagues in a given level.”
If the aforementioned doesn’t work, how about a random selection of the team you’ll get in a promo/releg game.
- “Random promotion/relegation has been suggested and denied once before. I'm not saying it's never going to happen, but right now, it's not on the agenda.”
