Agreed. Look no further than Sandy Bragg in soccer. He's not as good as a bunch of forwards in US I.1, but he's always near the top in goals scored. His massive 130 exp has to play a big part in that.
Great pulls helped in the first couple seasons- NOW there are more factors at play. YES woddall was a beast for you in the 1st season-
Bragg was ahead of his time-- If he only would have came 3 seasons later he woudl be a beast.
This season and next is the seasons to pull future NT stars. Snagging 1 of them will make ya set in that position for the next 5 to 8 years. The current crop of 16-17 year old's will be out of the way soon enough.
It is a "shame" i cant start Draper in the National Team cause Jeff Rice is slightly better. Perhaps I could experience him out of position like you do. Problem is that there were too few friendlies to test things out.
Woodall is starting even though there are a handfull of simular players. Him being universal got him an initial spot in the world cup roster even though I am having a head ache to get to figure it out the best players/tactics to beat Hungary.

not all 16 will. The mistake I made to select too many too earlier thinking i could still cut before the end of first week was because most of those had amazing qualities. Those few should survive the NT team next season.
My thought was to pick my top 14 then select the best quality 16yo players even though there were better current players
17yo players could still play another season or two, as yoiu say, depending on their qualities and CL. The likelyhood is that they would be replaced by top 15yo that come up this season
Lloyd Russ , not in the NT roster alhtough he should, will very likely be the starting goalie next season and for seasons to come. but William Jack even though is currently 17yo could still make the team due to almost perfect goalie and blocking qualities and currently high OR and still 6/6

557 career competitive goals isn't a beast? 135 of those have come in the last 3 seasons of league play.
A different level of Beast Mode- Sandy Bragg is a Beast especially in the division we are in now. Maybe I should have rephrased my statement.
hahaha... not in your news feed. promise.
I just happened to look at your roster page and notice the two "1"s next to them.
From experience of what my players are repricing at, I figured they were gonna cost you another 5 grand or so.
And yeah... it's definitely more interesting trying out various tactics and strategies to see how things work. My lineup and tactics are in constant flux as I try new things and test new strategies. Definitely more fun that way.

mmm. yeah, experience is definitely a wild card at this point.
Maybe that's the x-factor behind my team's performance so far this season... I've actually been wondering how/why my team is doing as well as they are. Because honestly, my overall player ratings are no where near as good as where I'm currently ranked.
To date, I've just told myself it's because my goalies are good. I hadn't really considered the impact of experience.

I hope the trend of owning mostly US players continues for most teams.
I know a lot of teams are getting a little bit more active on the market (I've seen several high dollar pickups just in the past couple of weeks).
There's just something strangely rewarding about not filling your team with a bunch of random Czech players though...

We're getting to a point for many teams where SAs have provided a lot of talent at some positions and not as much at other positions. The easiest way to fill those gaps is to purchase players on the market. Since there are not a lot of USA players on the market that will fill those gaps, foreign players are purchased.
I'd definitely prefer for my SA to give players for every position, but it hasn't. I've concentrated on my SA and TF so far, with the hope of developing USA talent. Now I'm looking to fulfill one of my other goals: advancing from division IV to division I in 3 seasons.

Maybe I've been lucky then? I really can't complain about the diversity of my SA pulls. I haven't gotten a ton of superstars from the SA, but I've definitely had a bunch of decent guys who lend themselves to the different positions. Definitely good enough to build a balanced team around. Sure I might have a wing who's speed Q is 74 and who's pass Q is 78. Technically he probably should be a defender... but he's very functional on the wing for the time being.
My problem to date has been that I have really only 1 or 2 guys (tops) that are capable offensive players.
The best long term field player on my team (who has an AvQ of like 85 and OR of like 290 or something) has a shot Q of 66. The highest OR player on my team (who has positional and fip Qs in the 90s) has a shot Q of 50. I've just not gotten decent snipers (or even balanced shooters) yet. My best shooter by far is still a 17 year old that I pulled in season 1, and god forbid he goes down with an injury... my team shooting drops like 2-3 points.
That said, I'm not gonna go to the market and blow 20 million for a guy with decent shooting Qs and overall qualities. It just doesn't make sense to me at this point because it's likely that my SA will beat any guy that I buy now within a season or two.
Sure, if you're in rapid expansion mode (where you want to get to division I as quickly as possible and compete as much as possible), then you might have to dip into the market a bit more... but that's really only a sustainable proposition if you're also drafting quality, redundant players that you can sell for a decent amount of money too (something I haven't been lucky enough to do yet).
Even then, as long as I can compete with my current team, I'd prefer to build my team infrastructure up rather than throwing any proceeds from player sales back into the market. But that's just me. I tend to play very patiently. Now that I've made it at least to division 2, my goal is to stay here and be as competitive as possible while (hopefully) outpacing the infrastructure growth of other teams (who are focused on immediate results/performance).
The fact of this game is (and will always remain) that the team that builds all their facilities and arena up the fastest has a HUGE competitive advantage over other teams. You don't get there without incredibly frugal money management.

If having a wing with 74 speed Q and 78 pass Q is your most out of position player, then you're doing much better than some of us in that regard. I'm assuming he's even universal or on the side he prefers as well.
To be honest .... I really hope you do not accomplish your goal
Pulling NT players while playing in D2 is much better ... for me at least lol
