while it may be some truth to that (as long as one start earlier on Season 1), how many teams died so other teams could be promoted?

Nebraska, Wasphawks felt to D2 on first season and never able to return.

Saints felt to D2 and returned

High headers still on D1.

So .. it was necessary that many teams became ghosts to give opportunity to others.

Magic kicks promoted to D1, relegated than promoted back
Arlington betamax promoted to D1 on S2 and is one of the best USA teams.

Unfortunately i dont have time now to go to other divisions but you get my idea: many teams had to wait for others to ghost to get opportunity.
If many of those D1/D2 teams were not gone, it would be so damn hard.

I've noticed that and staff pulls for a while now. It seems as though the "days remaining" for the staff and player pulls is calculated based on the game clock (even though that's not how it actually runs).

So right now, because the game clock is at 1:10 am, officially "Friday" has already "started."

but that will happen in handball too. It's part of the natural progression. There's already been a ghost from division 1 and we aren't even a 1/4 of the way through season 3.

Two teams that were playoff teams last year in division II.1 are ghosts this year. It happens... you can't really model the rate at which it happens... but it happens none the less.

I think runny is right in saying that the most important thing is that the manager is good, manages his money/team well, and is active. Eventually all the active managers who are half decent will rise to the top of the standings (whether it's division 1 or high positions in division 2).

The Firehoses are in my division. They have a max stadium and great facilities. I think that they demoted because of a rebuild (only 3 players are over 20 on that team).

Actually, what matters is just outlasting the competition - it's how I ended up in I.1 in both other sports.

Stick around for 3 years and most of the current I.1 teams will have probably folded. For reference, soccer season 3 was about 3 years ago and 15 of the 22 teams (68%) have since folded. Hockey season 3 was a little over 4 years ago and 16 of the 20 teams (80%) are gone.

The rest of you guys can adopt the gazelle strategy, sprinting off to the top in a hurry. I'm gonna be the crocodile, chilling at the water hole, knowing that eventually my turn will come...

Handball allowed people to buy to start on d1. Most of those are proven hardcore and been for a long while. I expect it will take longer for those to fold.

Sheeeesh. I got absolutely smoked today. Talk about a learning experience.

Nice to know my guys can't score on a 212 OR goalie. =/ But then, my starting line taking only 10 shots from 6m through 50 minutes doesn't help either.

I think this is just one of those matches where I have to shake my head and move on. I'm trying to learn some lesson from my team's utter implosion today, but I'm just getting more annoyed the longer I look at it.

How Remington, a 237 OR back can take as many shots from 6m as my entire defensive core (305, 286, 284 OR)... and score more regular goals (excluding 7m shots) than anyone on my team is just beyond my comprehension.

Yeah, I mean I like to bounce my tactics around so that I can be as unpredictable as possible for anyone who tries to study me up. I'll acknowledge that I started at a disadvantage in the 1st half going with a 4-2 against what turned out to be wing shooting.

That said, that doesn't explain how/why my team was so absolutely anemic on attack (only 35 shots on goal?). How a team that makes substitutions and plays slow transition can have more fast breaks than me when I don't sub and play fast breaks is a mystery to me.

Just when I start stringing together some close wins against a bunch of teams I probably shouldn't have beat, and start thinking I might actually understand this game, it kicks me in the teeth and makes me all confused again.

ObryantJ- some how you and I get to have a lot of history going early on in handball- GL on Weds. Im trying to think of our record so far- I believe I went 2-1 in season last year and you cleaned house in playoffs at 0-2 and are 1-0 so far. Fun stuff.

I know what you mean. I kind of have that sort of situation with Dooshnozzles. We both started in IV.4 in season 1. I beat him in the finals, he won in the promotion match. Last season we were both in III.4. I beat him in the finals, and he won the promotion match.

This year... he's saving energy. I'm kind of worried.
