Hi, so what do you think the World Cup so far

Are you asking some one in particular or any one in general?
And if you are asking me, are you referring to my world cup run, or Ireland?

Well regarding Ireland, and if you look at just the numbers, they are where they should be because all teams except turkey have better overall values. I think the standing table reflects that.

Regarding Portugal, although we managed more points than last season we find ourselves fighting to avoid relegation, while last season we finished 4th in division I.

In both seasons that I managed the Portuguese NT, there was only 1 other team which had lower values, and theoretically was weaker, so I know the reality of managing an underdog

This is my opinion about the NT...

No matter how many promises are made about getting young, talented players into the NT, it simply will not work.

I guarantee you now, that whoever is in charge next season will use only the best players available to them.

The job is for 1 season, if you go into the WC with a young, low OR, low chemistry side and get hammered in every game, no-one will not stand a chance for re-election.

And this would be a mistake. You need to give a chance to young players. At least one or two each season, becouse one day the NT will be full of retired players and you will start from the begining.

No matter who will be elected, he must realize this and slowly build the team for future, not just for the next WC.

Most of the irish teams dont have their SA at full yet so players coming in the future should be better than now. Just keep in mind players can play through something like 30 yrs.

The way I will work, if I'm elected, is simple. I will chose the best group of players I can find to raise chemistry for the world cup by playing every weekend, and I will get the best group of players with potential to train during the week.
It's important to perform well during the world cup and also provide the players with improvement capability to develop to their full potential.

In my opinion it will be a mistake to just go look for youth. when the youth world cup is implemented it will be time to think about it, and according to my calculations that will not happen in the next 3 seasons.

He most be able to build the team for both situations, not just one, and that's what I intend to do.
