It would appear that he outsmarted you by having his team put their only shot wide of the net.
I'm trying to figure out who I'm likely to face in the promotion/relegation round from I.1. I think it's going to be the Sterling Cheetahs, but you guys are really tight up there, it's insane.

I don't think so,maybe next season,see you there( champions league )
Man! And you make a comeback in the shootout of the ChL semifinal to beat me there too. It's just not my week.
We got a US team in CL and CWC final. Divoch team are the favorites to win it, while my guys will be an underdog here.
I didn't manage to make it past the CWC quarterfinals, but I succeeded in avoiding relegation once more. I had to catch up by 6 points to the Sterling Cheetahs and win the tiebreaker in the last 2 games of the seasons to get a better matchup, and even that matchup was relatively difficult since my team was exhausted, but the Firestorm managed to pull through.
My team as it stands now isn't and won't become good enough to break through to the top 8, so I'm going to go through with my "Firestorm Firesale" now.
All players over 18 will be put onto the market. A lot of those players have played for my team since they were 15 and have experience as high as 185. Much of my staff will also be made available. I might even mark my NT caliber players for sale for exorbitant prices. I do have a player that has had the second best OR on the U17 NT for a while after all.
Hopefully my daily costs approaching $6 million will soon be a distant memory as I work to recapture a lot of it. Hopefully it will help the NT's to give my prospects more experience now that I finally have all the facilities necessary to develop NT caliber players.

Welcome in the club!
I am pretty sure that the only way to catch the top of I.1 on the very long run.

I wasn't expecting our matchup to be that close, but after I won at home with the shutout, I got my hopes up that I may be able to pull out a miracle by getting an away goal and holding you to two. It wasn't to be, oh well. Nice work avoiding relegation for one more season.
I think my team was at over 200 team strength at one point, but it had dropped to around 150 by the end of the season. I actually took 4 of my starters out of the lineup and replaced them with my backups that hadn't played very much for the second match. My third string forward was actually the man of the match.
Your team seems pretty close to I.1 - you'll get there eventually at this rate. Of course, in I.1, you would probably win 10 games or so. You might win more games and get a pretty good sponsorship in the long run in II.3. The first season after you promote you would have a really good sponsorship, but it would decline over time if you stayed up there for a while.

The first season after I promote, I'll probably win 0 games because that's when I'd begin my quasi-youth movement. If I'm going to end up relegating right back down like I would, I may as well get some experience out of it.
They go to the market automatically. Although Im not sure exactly when. It's either once you drop your team or once your ex-team drops to the lowest tier.
I dont understand what your plan is, are you going to buy a new team with the 150k+ you got from the sales (imo it's not enough), or are you going to play for a few seasons with younger players (in which case you'll get relegated for sure, and will also have a hard time promoting once again to I.1)?
