Arghhh. I finally get a chance to get a decent player out of this and I don't have even 1 decent prospect. I hate this draft. Just once I'd like to get someone I could use.
Yeah, this draft is really poor. Out of 140 players scouted, I found 1 A.
Man! I wish my players would speak up when I do stupid things. Like, when I put my backup forward in as a goalie. In real life, wouldn't he say something like, "You sure you want me to do that? Did you maybe mean the other guy on the roster with a Finnish flag next to his name?"
Didn't think you would! Crazy performance from your goalie, too.
I've finally gotten to the point that I will be finished with upgrading my facilities and stuff in my stadium in about a month, after I upgrade the stadium accessories one more time.
It looks like I would be able to earn about $80,000,000 per season. Even so, every one of the top 10 or so teams also makes at least this much every season. While this isn't bad, I don't think I have any players over 20 or so that are capable of playing a key role on a team that could make the top 8 in I.1. Meanwhile, I am spending about $250,000,000 per season to pay for staff and players to maintain a potential 10-14 team. At $80,000,000 per season, it would take forever to earn enough to put together a team capable of competing with the best teams if I do nothing but save money at that rate to buy an elite team in the distant future.
I am thinking of selling all of my players over ~18 (including all foreign players) and all of my staff, except for staff for marketing, stadium custodians, and staff for youth training (I may drop them too if I'm not producing players to pay for their salaries).
While I could develop the experience of a relatively strong group of prospects to build my team for the future, my primary goal would be to reclaim that $250,000,000 per season (the cost of the salaries I would sell). I might just end up selling most of the remaining players as they get into their 20's. I'm spending each season to maintain a mediocre team (the top 8 or so teams in I.1 have been incredibly consistent for a very long time). Even if I lose $100,000,000 per season due to demotion, it would still speed up the process a lot. I could possibly get a few hundred million from the sales too.
I want to try to win the Cup Winner's Cup and avoid relegation for one more season, so I won't begin the Firestorm firesale until after the relegation playoffs (or the season if I manage to take a top 14 spot).

It looks like I'm on to the round of 16 in the Cup Winner's Cup. 2 teams from the United States are left. I'd like to at least match my 4th place finish from 2 seasons ago.
Due to the upsets today, the Firestorm is now the #4 seed, which means that I should have a fair chance against any team I might face until the final 4 (though I need 1 more upset to avoid The Drillers in the quarterfinals).

Good luck. I'm surprised how Crvena Zvezda lost to such a weaker opponent.
Looks like you got an equal opponent in the next round, while i can save some energy again for later rounds.
It is nice to see, in the final-8 match-ups, that the 7 CAN/USA teams in the ChL are not facing each other. Pretty good odds the trophy will be landing here I'd say.
