Unprofessional, immature????
Up to last week, Ireland had never gotten a national team, never mind a national team manager to get tips from.
I'm still learning, as are we all.
I, along with the rest of us learn from our mistakes as we go on. So yeah, there may have been 1 or 2 things I could have done differently, but show me someone who is happy with everything they've done!
I doubt we will see any players that are better than the ones in the team already that may appear at a later stage. Maybe 1, or 2. But they will appear in the next season.
50 players were chosen, lot of youngsters were included, and it is my intention to play all of them at some stage in the friendly games to gain experience, some may even get into the more important games later on the season depending on how well they train, which will be a huge bonus for us.
But......
As I sated in a previous thread, we are a new nation getting used to NT games/squads/players, etc, etc... And we have a team who are lower than most on team strength, experience and chemistry.
So while criticism is welcome, I would like it to be fair and justified. To call my decisions so far, as unprofessional and immature is hardly fair.
After all, we got a creditable result in our first game, only being beaten in a penalty shoot out.
I'm sure there will be games where we will get a good pasting, but I'm more confident of us being as competitive as possible, and causing some of the bigger teams some problems.
As I said, critique is welcome, as long as it is fair.
