Just so you know its just not prize money. If a league gets an average of 30% more prize money, it will get roughly the same advantage in sponsorship money given the same facility level.

Quite frankly country winners and losers are already set by PM on Day 1 Season 1. The largest countries start at with a significant financial advantage. This advantage just becomes cumulative season after season. After a while you reach a point like now where the divides between counties are so great, the game gets impossible to play.

I sincerely believe if were ever going to have normal functioning game world, PPM has to get out of this habit of giving higher budgets to its preferred nations. While I believe the idea was well intended, it just causes huge distortions that can never be fixed.

Antsa

I don't think largest countries really get that big of advantage people here are claiming. There are a lot of examples about teams that have been in top of International tables and tournaments even though they have been from nations of 3 or less league levels which is the cap for sponsor income reduction.

If we look at the champions' league table now, there are 4 teams in semifinals and they're from Belarus (3 league levels), Sweden (3), Slovenia (3) and Poland (5).

If you look at the teams who went to quarter finals, you can see that 6 out of 8 teams there are from leagues of only 3 divisions and thus reduced sponsorships. Not a single team reached quarter finals from Slovakia or Czech Republic.

If you look at the world's TOP10 overall team ratings, from top 10 teams 4 are from leagues of 3 or less league levels.

If you look at the world's TOP10 team strength table, 6 out of 10 teams are from leagues of 3 or fewer league levels.

If you look at those two tables again, you'll see that there's only one team from Slovakia or Czech Republic in both of those tables.

That's all possible despite the fact that overall only 41 % of teams in the football game are from leagues of 3 or less levels and 20 % are from Slovakia and Czech Republic. If you look at ice hockey standings, the situation is very similar. Now where is the huge distortion you're talking about?

Statistically there are 87 teams in league Asia which is 0,5% of all teams in the game. If the best team of Asia doesn't compete with the best teams of the game, is it unfair? I don't think it is because the best team of Azerbaijan (33 teams, 0.2% of all) has the third highest team strength of all teams in the game and can compete against anyone.

Personally I just can't see the problem unless the problem is that it's too easy for best teams in small countries. I'd really like the idea of giving everyone a chance to decide if they want to play in National league or International league. That way those small league teams could have the competition they really want.

True story. +1

Theres no doubt about it. Your right there are still some very strong clubs in the small and nations. Clubs just like me. These clubs have been around since the beginning and being at the top of division 1 are the few to get adequate financing. The problem is you get past the top 3 or 4 clubs the situation changes drastically. Everyone else is treading water.

There's no better example of this than the Other World Cup Winners Cup in Soccer. This is one of the most prestigious tournament in the game, yet over 25% of the clubs entered had no managers.

Quite frankly I think soccer can trudge along for 7 or 8 more seasons. You are right. Some areas of the game are yet to be effected. The decline is slow but steady. I do wonder though how long PPM can sit back and watch as managers continue to give up and walk out the door.

Antsa

I think that lack of competition in small leagues is mainly caused because by the lack of good managers in those countries. If there are not many managers and some of them are very good at the game compared to others, it's inevitable that the others won't have much chance against them in game like this where you put all your effort for years to make your team as good as possible.

In countries with hundreds or thousands teams, it's much more likely that there are more managers to challenge the top 3 or 4. See US for example, I think they never had 4 league levels but the competition there is still high and many of them would have a team strong enough to play in Czech I.1.

You can see managers of smaller countries begging for their own national leagues here in forums despite the fact that there's just not enough of them to form an even league. It's a tough call for PPM to decide about how much bigger sponsors they should give to the biggest nations. They've decided to go with the model where leagues of 4 or more levels get more and others get less. Teams in the biggest countries are saying that it's too easy to get a good sponsors in small countries while the top teams of small countries are saying that the top teams of big countries are getting too big sponsors. The current model isn't perfect but it's not easy to make a simple fix for it that would make everyone happy.

I have managers in Asia telling me too they want their own countries and I tell them, "Don't even think about it." Im sure I told you about the destruction of Japan earlier. The sad thing here is those like me who know Japanese soccer, know the J-league is one finest new leagues in the world. The quality is just as comparable to that of many medium sized European Nations. A huge market for PPM has been turned to dust.

Actually its not that complicated at all to have a good and fair global game system. Start are the leagues equally. Big countries like the Czech Republic are still going to do the best. The massive number of players will always ensure that.

However by giving the upstart countries equal status in league money, you give them at least a fighting chance to build and become respectable over several seasons. PPM games need the countries to blossom to have some source of new manager growth.

Yes this the upstart countries getting their way. Only because the large counties have gotten their way on everything since day 1. Now the game is paying for this with so many managers walking out the door.

Japan is culturally much different world to Europe. You should know that. The game that are popular in Japan are very different from what we have here. I am not saying that a breakthrough wouldn't be possible, but simply increasing the sponsor money they get wouldn't do it.

we are losing managers across the board. whether it's small or big countries. your theory that it's the sponsor deals doesn't hold much water. I am sure some people quit when their sponsor offers dropped after their country was reduced to smaller number of league levels, but we changed the system how that works and that will not happen again.

New managers are concerned mostly with competing in their own league rather than thinking of international fame. I don't think they quit because of lower income. Remember that these countries also have lower player and staff salaries.

I do however agree that the economy in this game is not perfect and that it's hard for new managers to catch up with the old ones. but that's a completely different story.

Hi Vlady,

First of all I want to commend you guys for doing such a great job on basketball. I really think you have a winner to be proud of. I do however note we agree to disagree on economy in soccer. I really don't want to start arguing you point for point. I think I have laid my case out in intelligent and respectful manner within this thread.

I do sincerely hope you do consider giving equal budgets to all countries around the world. It will never let them catch the huge powers of Europe, but at least give them a fighting chance over time to build a winner. This is not just me, this was what the Japanese and the rest of Asia were saying. As some one who has lived an traveled over this region for a decade, they are really not the mystery you make them out to be.

You say Iam a bad manager ?

I know everything about this... and be apart of both sides...

Sweden was the best country on PPM a few seasons ago...

Antsa

No, I don't think I said anything like that. Sweden isn't a small country that is lacking competition like Azerbaijan or Taiwan.

sazy

This is not going anywhere. All the questions and suggestions we see here have been already put on table from your captains long time ago. PPM team just needs to find midle ground and we need to wait next sponsors to see the result, like 24 days

Tomo75

I think, Sweden never was the best country. ;)

I understand your wish compromise. Usually this is a good thing. The problem is the game is losing a lot of players. How long can the game function like this with fewer and fewer managers every season?

The only way to get new players is to embrace start up nations and have new growth. There are lots of high division openings in startup countries. They just have no money now to make them worthwhile. It seems the only viable option. If you can tell me another way to stop the bleeding and stablize the game. I would love to hear it.
