bohemians must be prepared to pay good money to keep him although you have more money than he has.

Ha! As much as it would be fun to mess with people that way, I don't have the financial flexibility right now to buy players just so I don't have to play against them...especially when he'd probably just use the compensation money plus his own funds to buy an even better goalie.

compensation is only half. he bough him at age 24 so he didnt have time to give bonus.

If lets say the winning bid is 50M. he earns 25M losing 20M from what he paid.

Well, that's true, but he didn't necessarily lose that 20M...it's invested in the success of his team. That guy was so important to his team's play over the last couple of seasons. Don't you think he's reaped rewards of at least 20M in the form of higher league finishes, better sponsor deals, increased attendance, and top goalie awards?

i do, that is why i am sure he will do his best to keep him.
because losing him will make his team not to earn that better league finish, get better sponsor and etc.

at the 25M he cannot replace him. he would have to put another 50M and build chemistry on top of it.

with the money he would earn by letting him go, he would replace to a perhaps 150 OR goalie. that would put his team to 135 strength moving from 8th to 14th-15th position as best strength team.

I do hope to retain Flavio Servetto . IMO he is the biggest reason I even have a chance to sneak into the playoffs this year (and in the near future).

He will be my first RFA so I am uncertain as to what to expect as far as interest and bid size. I've been saving up for the big layout but, of course, can't afford to blow my whole wad for 1 player. I figure if I can hold onto him through the 3 year FA contract my backup should be ready to assume his duties and I can maybe recoup some of what it will cost me to retain him now.

Worst case; I have a few guys scoped out on the market that could step in w/o too much of a drop in performance.
