I did a little research to compare I.1 team strengths, only because I know on paper I'm competitive in that area. I know these numbers can be skewed if teams played there last game with a training camp in session or burned out due to low energy. I only see one team with greater strength, which is the I-Force, and I'm tied with the Red Wings. So at least on paper, I think I have a reasonable shot to compete for a playoff spot. Time will tell, playing a battle tested High Hitters squad today is not exactly a "soft" opener...should be fun this season. Bring it on!

it'll be interesting to see how much everyone's ratings jump after the game today. People who used a ton of energy and who had 2 camps since the last playoff game will jump the most, but everyone should get a nice boost today...
I ran a camp also...I should push over 50. On a side note I lost a year of CL from my best player today (Minter), but for the most part my key 5/6 and 6/6 guys stayed the same. How did your top guys fare?
I still show Buckley as a 19 year old 5/6! Dan Minter is an 18 year old 4/6...damn the luck.
My team strength will be off for a least another week. I the last 6 days 3 of my starters are either hurt or D2D. Gotta love the injuries in this game. One guy back another guy hurt!
looks like a lot of teams are up over 50 now (the Americans, Force, RED WINGS, Swamp Foxes, Alaska Wolves, Psychos and Vowelrifics) but the Americans and Wiggly Pigs have camps going right now and some teams have some injuries so it's hard to predict how it'll all pan out.
Anybody got some predictions or smack talk?

Heh - my shooting went down 3 points with that lineup. I think I'm setting up nicely this season as long as I don't give up as many shorthanded goals. I've retweaked by PP lineup and hopefully fixed the problem.
I was pissed that I drew the Americans in the 1st round last season, I should have been top 3 and playing in the CL again this season.

who thinks staff salaries are still ridiculous? I'm paying under 30k per day for player salaries (35 players), but over 116k per day for staff salaries (19 coaches). Tell me of a pro sports league where this is true.
*Raises hand
I had a guy go from a 3k contract to an 11k contract. I'm paying 3x as much per day for staff than I am players.
Do NHL teams pay 120M for their office people? - oh and that doesn't even include our facilities/arena payments which for me are another multiple of 8 over player cost.

I think the theory is, staff can't go over 100 in their stats, so they are getting closer to their theoretical cap than players ever will.
Eventually players will be coming from the SA already at 400 OR (in theory) and then they will be getting trained even higher. So imagine the stars of today's PPM game, being like the stars from the 1900s NHL, and it will take years before we see someone of Wayne Gretzky quality.
But we have the staff of the modern era.
not saying this may be right, but just remember the theory is that long term this will work out right, but if not done this way in the future it will be wrong. Personally i'd rather have it look funny we are paying so low now than them having to go back and fix it in the future.

I personally know the Islanders Zamboni driver, he gets paid $18 Million/ per season.
On the team strength note... I'm just glad the game is played by miniature men who live inside my computer, and not the numbers on my team strength page.

Sonuvabitch! I am in the wrong profession. I should learn how to drive oversized vehicles on ice!
I pay my players $27,800 a day but my staff $162,450 a day. Yeah, I would say its a lil lopsided.
yeah but your players and staff are worth every penny. lol
