I am now playing Kerbal Space Program. It is to me the most original game since Civ 1. I also picked up Folk Tale, do not waste your cash.!! It is very early Alpha, and I am quite pissed they did not tell us only the tutorial is working. However, it is nice what they have.
No, I have been looking at though. As soon as it goes on Steam sale I had planned to. A decent space game eh?
looks interesting... but i think I'll just wait for age of wonders III. From the looks of it, I'll be losing a bit of my life to it.
Should be coming out in Q1 2014.

Looked into that Uncharted Waters Online game after seeing that it was made by KOEI (I really enjoyed the dynasty warriors games 8-10 years ago on ps2).
It is soooooo slow lol.

On the topic of steam, does anyone else on here really, REALLY hate download games and/or games that require a server to run?
I've gotta say, that was my biggest beef with deus ex: human revolution and diablo 3 (respectively).
I don't want to have to open steam to play a game. And If/when blizzard decides not to host d3 anymore (in 10 years or who knows), I won't be able to play it anymore. Multiplayer is great and all, but games that don't have a single player mode, and/or games that REQUIRE online connectivity, really piss me off.
I mean heck, I still play the original unreal tournament from time to time. Because I own it, and I can run it smoothly even on today's crude over-the-counter laptops.
I mean seriously, I understand how steam benefits developers, but how exactly does it benefit gamers? Because I haven't found anything about it to like very much.

It's definitely a very slow game that wouldn't appeal to a lot of people, but I still find it fun to play once in a while.
I am one of those freaks who you will have to convince that Steam is bad.
As for being connected, does not matter to me one bit. As soon as Al Gore invented the internet, this was coming.
I started my gaming life with Pong, I am so ready for data jacks that just plug into our Skulls!!

hahaha... I know why I think it's bad, and it's fine if other people don't agree (not trying to convince anyone). I'm just trying to figure out what's good about it.
You kind of let me down man. lol.

Sorry about that let down!!
I just know steam since I 1st used it has been berry berry good to me.
I am not sure if you know of the game Crusaders kings II? If not, you should slap yourslef!! lol ... It is the best strat/rpg game ever!! It comes out with a lot DLC's. Steam makes it so easy to get them!!
I also like to think for an old fart, that I keep with the times! My daughters would argue I am stuck in the 80's though.

If you're talking about "paid" DLCs, that's a great example of how I think Steam benefits game purveyors, but not gamers.
Sure... make a small change in your game, then sell it for a few bucks to a captive audience of hundreds of thousands who have already expressed buying interest in your game. That's a winning profit model right there. I'm not sure how that benefits the gamers though.
If DLC convenience (or convenience) in general) is the only benefit steam offers me, I'll maintain my hope that it's just a fad and doesn't stick around longterm. I'd rather go to the store and buy something (that I own), or wait for it to be delivered from Amazon.com than be handcuffed to a platform that strips me of any true ownership of my purchases.
I'm all for keeping up with the times, as long as the times aren't trying to take advantage of me. >_<

Well if that is how ya feel, that is how you feel. I am on the oppiste side of the fence. Steam does benifit me.
*shrugs* I am not steam stock holder,I feel no need to drum up business for them. Steam is one of those things, you either love it or hate it.

True I guess. I just keep hoping someone can convince me otherwise lol.
I checked out Crusader Kings 2... looks kind of like a video game version of the Showtime t.v. show The Tudors with Jonathan Rhys Meyers. I'll probably try it out at some point. Seems to have a decent amount of depth even though all the action is only in the European region.
I'll let you know what I think lol. =)

Please do, if you liked CIV this should be fun for you. Not just Europe though. It also has north Africa and the middle east. Start in Ireland for your 1st game.
This edit needs longer then 2 mins!! Like at leaset 3 days in my case!! Reading the AAR's on the home forum site is great way to learn about the game.
