8-D I think you over estimated my team. The players I'm playing suck! Right now I'm playing all of my original 140-180 OR players. There is no one worse on the market. I only came 5 off here:handball.powerplaymanager... I played 3-2-1.

I will try some of the things you guys said. I did do some in the wrong position but not all of them. I will do that. I'm also finding that all my big azz salaries wont go because none buys my "good" players for 10k. L-)

I am determined to lose on Friday.Only need to lose 5-6 more! I've decided to stay in III for another season or two and need t get to position 3.

Keep in mind that if you tank in the playoffs, your sponsors will be penalized for the next season.

I plan on winning the first round them losing in 3 games in round two. Honestly, I'm finding it so hard to get rid of my salaries. But if I move up to II now I will lose even more money in the long run. I'm just not ready with $$.

If I stay as number 1. And then "lose" in the second round. Will I be promoted or stay?

To promote, you need to win three rounds or lose in the third round and win against the 13th place team from II.2.

You get penalized if your team strength is substantially weaker in the playoffs, until you are eliminated. You could probably still try bad tactics without a penalty.

If you have the money, you can terminate a player for half of the value of the contract. Otherwise, you can just turn off the automatic contract extension on the player's page or in the contract section under the player tab.

I personally think it's a huge mistake on your part to try to stay in division III.2 next season (and this is coming from a team manager who has been perfectly content staying in division II.1 ever since season 3).

Consider the following:
1) As capsaicin said, if you tank in the playoffs, you'll be shooting yourself in the foot because sponsors will punish you.

2) With several handball teams in the U.S. quitting (again) this season, there's a very good chance that there will be a league regrouping during the offseason (meaning you might get promoted into II.2 or II.3 anyways). If there's a good chance you'll be there next season anyways, you might as well enter on as strong a footing (good sponsorship deals) as possible (rather than hobbling your way in).

3) Tier II isn't as good as you might think it is. For example... before you started TRYING to lose games, you had a team strength of around 76. That would make you the 6th best team in II.2 (the division you'd promote in to). It'd be one thing if you'd struggle to win games, but if you'd be able to be a playoff team, you're better off (monetary wise) just promoting.

=======

If you think there's a reasonable chance that you can be a top 4-5 team in division II.2 next season (I'd say you could), you probably should risk trying to stay in division III.2. Because there's a good chance you'll fail anyways (regrouping), and doing so would just cost you money (in both sponsorship deals, and promotion bonus money).

"should NOT risk trying..."

Thanks for the clarification for him. I'm not too good at words-ing. XD

Really I'd be the 6th best? I looked at a couple of them and thought I get crushed.

Really the only reason I want to stay is my salaries are taking a toll on me and I want to start building triples.

I will also miss out on a level 8 HR by 1 day!
But I guess going undefeated and all that would greatly increase my sponsorship...

Thanks guys. Now I'm rethinking my choice.
I still have time. (all of my players sold have come back.) But there's still 3 on the market.
:-?:-?:-? Very hard choice now.

So I've got a question regarding RFAs. It's recently come to my attention that player can actually sign their RFA contracts at age 27. I'm wondering if anyone has any specifics on when / how this happens?

Example case:
Daniel Pålsson is a player I recently purchased on the market. He will be an RFA at the end of his current contract (which expires in 75 days). That will be day 3 of season 15 in handball. At that point, he'll be 27, not 26.

I'm curious because my top two players (Ted Keenan and Rolland Benedict ) are both 24 y/o and I've been thinking that they'd both become RFAs in two seasons. Now I'm wondering if this will indeed be the case. Both have contracts that roll over EXTREMELY early in the season. Each season,
Rolland Benedict 's contract expires on Day 4, while Ted Keenan 's expires 9 days later on Day 13.

The guide says RFAs are "A player who is 26 years old and whose contract expires in 14 days."

Does this mean that since both Ted Keenan and Rolland Benedict will still be 25 y/o when there's 14 days left on their contract that I'll get the equivalent of an extra season before they become RFAs?

If so, that'd definitely be a pretty sweet deal. Even if only Rolland Benedict makes the cut, that might actually be EVEN better (in terms of making sure I have enough money to keep both of them on my team).

Any insight is appreciated...

so, after playing a season and getting my feet wet, I'm prepared to have my life get flip turned upside down :P

Whats this whole thing with having a different defensive unit and offensive unit? What are the positives/negatives? What makes a back good on a defensive lineup and good on an offensive lineup?

By using specialists, you can completely neglect shooting for defensive players and blocking for defensive players. The OR saved can be redistributed to other areas, making the player stronger in the area where the player is used instead of a more mediocre 2-way player.

The one negative is that a team with a lot of 2-way players (and more emphasis on speed) can be more effective on fast breaks and with using more offensive formations. A team with 1-way players can still be somewhat effective on fast breaks though.

Another negative is that your starting roster will be larger, so if you get an injury, you'll likely be forced to either use a prospect or a defensive player on offense.

Most teams seem to prefer going the route of training 1-way players.

Thanks! I'll try it out, hopefully it improves my team

*blocking for offensive players can be neglected.

Yesterday July 6 I had a home match. 1400 people attended. I have 6 snack bars in my arena. Not a single dollar in sales. What's with that? 1400 people and not a single drink or hotdog was sold? I find that hard to believe.
