Personally i'd like to see you stay on, as you've done a fantastic job, however if you're wanting to move on then i fully understand that. Like you, i'd vote for an Australian over an Intl first, so we'll have to see who nominates first.
I'll be back to manage an NT team again, maybe in a season or two. But very much happy to assist next season if someone takes the main job.
same here prefer Aussie,..
BF done very impresive job
and would be difficult to achieve same results for anyone else..

The World Cup groups have been decided and Australia U20 is in Group 5 against:
- France (a side we drew 1-1 a couple of weeks ago in qualifying, and ranked 29th overall in U20)
- Belgium (ranked 26th overall in U20)
- Argentina (the topped ranked U20 team, yes rank 1!)
To be honest, not a bad draw for us really considering... we can match France & Belgium on a good day.

There was a bug
Correct group:
Germany
Slovenia
Bosnia and Herzegovina
Australia
You have to fight!

I think this group is better for You
I've said that I'll try to help You.

I've said that I'll try to help You.

First drawing was on senior ranking and now is correct.
Germany is strong like Argentina
Slovenia is like France or Belgium
Bosnia is weaker then them.
You can get promotion from the group if You won against Bosnia (real) and draw against Slovenia (possible).

The World Cup groups have been decided AGAIN, and as you know now Australia U20 is in Group 1 against:
1 - Germany
2 - Slovenia
3 - Bosnia & Herzegovina
Germany & Slovenia are the ones likely to qualify on paper. Our little country of Australia has such a small pool of players compared to the others in out group, but will be a fairy-tale if we get one win, one draw - that's the target.
Miscellaneous Statistics about our group:
- Germany currently has 706 active soccer managers
- Slovenia has 391 managers
- Bosnia & Herzegovina has 340 manager
- Australia has 67 managers (really only 30 active)

I believe that You can do it.
The group before was:
Argentina 958 teams
France 907
Belgium 185
I know that Belgium has less teams then Bosnia but has stronger team

Yes, confidence is low
also with one of our best centre midfielders suspended, Mitchell Matheson .
However we are beginning the mid-games - can't you tell
, and the great Aussie battler spirit will have us believing we are 5 times as good and 5 times as fast as we really are.
We had a 1-0 loss in a friendly on the weekend to our arch-rivals Chile U20 as warm-up. We were playing Very Low and they were playing Very High, so I thought our team did well.
As long as it's not a 6-0 loss tonight like the Socceroos! I've heard that's enough to get a coach sacked
Guus Hiddink will be watching this match for sure!
We will see at the final whistle @ 5am AEST!

Evening, and welcome to the World Cup update,
2 out of 3 pool matches are done and dusted, and it is official (and not a surprise), we're not going to progress out of the group stage.
In Match 1: Australian U20 vs Germany, I was very proud of our team despite being outclassed, going down 2-0 in the end. We did play a defensive structure.
In Match 2: Australian U20 vs Bosnia, we set up a structure for a win, forced a little bit by out best defender, Declan Gray being suspended. Again a 2-0 loss after.
Tonight is Match 3 vs Slovenia, and they drew 2-2 with Germany last night so will be tough again. We have two players suspended tonight, forward William Goode & defender Morgan McCarron.
in the pool update: After two matches Bosnia are top of the group and will progress with 2 wins so far. Germany are 2nd with 1 win + 1 draw, and Slovenia 3rd with 1 draw.
So tonight will be our last U20 match for the season. We'll have one last wrap-up commentary later this week.
Until next time

.... and in our final match it was a 3-0 loss to Slovenia to wrap up the world cup group stage, unfortunately 4th in the group.
Germany went on to win the U20 World Cup, a team we loss 2-0 in our group.
Well thanks for letting me give NT U20 a go, been enjoyable, and certainly scouted a few players and got to know our Aussie players.
I must admit our tactics were fairly defensive this season as so often we were the underdog, but our team is getting stronger each season, so if we get some managers to stick around, we'll be qualifying more often.
Still got a bit of research to complete to handover to our new U20 manager which looks like Raptor69.... so best of luck/fortune/skill in the new season. I'll be happy to offer any help/info you need.
I'm off on a holiday to the Gold Coast next week.
Until next time...
Actually... we'll change the sign-off..
Until a time in a season or two...
That was U20!
