You changed your goalie to late. His confidance dropped after 1st period (bad luck to get 2nd goal in the finnishing of 1st period that droped his confidance), and that is why he got 2 goals in 2nd one too. Your 2nd goalie has a decent goalkeeping %.
Opponements goalie got 1 goal in the start of the game, but until end of period his confidence growed (huge saves) and that is why you couldnt score in 2nd period, and it was then impossible to score in third (his confidance was even bigger).

My point is, you have 24 games to make up 3 points, why get so worked up over 1 game?
Sometimes even the best shooters don't score, sometimes even the lousiest do. Ask Kovalchuck why he is about to have the worst scoring season of his career.
Sometimes the best goalies can't stop a puck to save their life, sometimes the worst stop everything that comes there way. As Roy how one of the best goalies in history let in 11 goals
I know this isn't "Real life", but If the engine is reflecting that in this new model, I love it.

For goalies, if the technic or passing is over 50% of main skill i think its the same as a goalkeeper with tec and pass on 50%.
1st player
g 100
t 50
p 50
2nd player
g 100
t 90
p 80
I believe that 1st player is same or very similar to 2nd player.
That is why i think that lets say shooting over 70% (% is not in any way proven, its just an example) of the main skill is irrelevant.

The only reason I'm anywhere near the top-8 right now in I.1 is because of my shooting and tech. My OTS for Off and Def is terrible. Good shooting and goaltending is what wins me games. I know I'm just one data point but I have some friends who I convinced to train shooting long ago and they are winning too. Just promoted from div3 now first in div2 and running away with it as the other teams have neglected shooting and are strict 2:1:1 compared to 4:3:2 which has extra tech to help your PP
K ratio

I started training shoot last year on all my players, even with bad quality, as well as some wingers with good Q passing, etc.
In comparison to primary my wingers are all 100% or more, Centers are 50-75% and Dmen are 25-100% depending on their role on the PP etc. Some D have no shot training as they are just PK guys.
I think it's too early to tell.
I trained shooting for a month, had some games also against teams with much weaker shooting, and my team underperformed. Also I was always in top of the table by statistics for number of shots, maybe because of my secondaries which jump out from regular 2-1-1 training. And with usually more attempts on goal, bigger shooting percentage should give more goals, which I wish I can confirm.
We need another research as TheEagle did before, but I afraid nobody will find useful to spend time on big sample that is needed.

One thing I find shocking are goalies sv%. Look at my league for example. 92% is low! Crazy
Exquisite explanation which solves everything: bad day!
But it isn't just bad goalkeeper day, it corresponds to a bad day of all shooters from my team. But it isn't enough also, so it flirts with his goalie's good goalkeeping day, and to be worse - all that is in the same soup with "sudden good day" of his shooters.
It's to much coincidences for my taste, but as you say - it happens.
And if similar scenario suddenly starts happening to you, I'll see your reactions, I'll see whether you will have more fine excuses for this new improved engine and "bad days at the office".

I don't like statistics to be honest
I like more good position in the table and bad goalie percentage, than lousy place in the table and goalie which has good SV%

You didnt see any of my complains... It happened on this game:
hockey.powerplaymanager.c...
I know that my 4th attack sucs, but still, other 3 attacs are only a little better. And my goalie is better.
Just a bad day for him i guess.

Both teams in that case are incredibly close. The actual difference is not that big at all, and he played a more attacking tactic and had the home ice advantage. I would have picked him to win by a goal or 2, but not by the large scoreline that it was. Bit surprising there.
Both of them picked wrong tactics, both of them were penalized (SuperDrinkers even more). The score is ok in my opinion.
After I've found out how new GE works, I managed to win 9 in a row (only in league), even if my team is not so strong.

I don't know every detail about it
, but I know what to do in order to win some games.
