I wouldn't get any sporting directors.
They aren't worth their expenses at that level, just worry about raising your facility levels and don't worry about any staff yet.

I don't know if it's a bug, but a coach I am selling - Yanek Graber is not listed in the "most expensive". It seems to me that he probably should. Is is there a particular reason why he does not appear in that list?

This was my guess too, and you're probably right, altough players seem to be listed there whether there ar bids or not. But may be the rules are different for staff...

Should only be listed if they have a bid on them. Do you have an example of a player on the list without having a bid in?

Not anymore. I saw one yesterday. So the bug was not about my coach, but about that player . If I find another one, I'll tell you. Thanks for your help.

There is some sort of issue with line-ups/scratches or something.

I'm getting the warning:
"Warning!!! The next game will be played by an automatically generated lineup! The most likely causes are:

1. A player from the lineup was sold
2. A player from the lineup got injured
3. The substitute for the affected position is not set
4. The player is in the training camp and you have no substitutes set for his position
5. A player has been called up for the upcoming game of the national team"

The problem is that I have an injury on Line 3 Center, but I have 2 subs set up for center, but neither are being calculated for this spot.

Koby Bissell is the injured player, and in the scratches position I have:

Centers
Rémy England
Tommy Dumigan

Why am I still getting an auto-generated lineup?

I also went through all my PP, PK, Shootout, Captains, etc. and made sure no one is remove from them and they are all good (I auto-use my first 2 lines).

Why do I still get a generated lineup?

Only thing I can think of is because Remy England and Tommy Dumigan are both listed as scratches for my LW position as well?

Are you sure it's the injury causing the problem with the lineup and not the players called up for the National Team game?
