BTW, 5/6 isn't that bad... I believe by canucks' research 6/6 players usually go down to 5/6 quite quickly (depending on age) and then stay there for a while.

At the latest they will go to 5/6 from 6/6 when they age from 18 to 19. I have yet to meet a 19 year old 6/6 player. But 5/6 at 15 can drop to 4/6 at age 17 and most are at 4/6 by 18 and a select few are at 5/6 at 18 (thankfully Garnett is in that category.)

I'm debating between selling and training. I know he's a good player but I'm afraid that my training won't be good enough. I know he's my top long-term prospect for goalie at the moment.

I have 10.3m I was saving for arena upgrades. But I could invest in Training Level 9 and a decent coach with good attribute 1. What do you think? If I can't train him, I don't want to waste him.

It's my opinion that you hold on to your franchise players, regardless. That goalie is a franchise player. I would definitely hold on to him.

That's what I was thinking. But how would you suggest I maximize his training potential? I would like to have a plan for the future. Upgrade training facility and get d coach? If so, price range for d coach and base attribute 1?

2:1:1 sounds fine. But should I upgrade that 1 at a time?

Example: say he reaches 80:40:40, do I train him to 82:41:41 or just go to like 90:40:40..then raise the 40 to 45?

It depends if he is playing and how often you want to be spending time checking his training. Guys I don't play I train up increments of 5. Guys who do I change every point or two.

Also, build facilities first. Staff help, but not as much as warrants spending lots of cash to buy one only to spend lots of cash to pay their massive inflated salaries.

Yup, facilities should be your priority... Staff can always be added on a lark from the market, but facilities take time, effort, and cash.

I'm thinking about upgrading that. Which leaves 2 million left behind.

At the moment, that's my coaching/sports staff. I would probably need a better coach to upgrade that D coaching since my top 2 prospects right now are both defensive. Would you suggest I upgrade the coach to a more Defensive Oriented coach? Then maybe get a good Sporting Director for Youth Camp (send him there for 2 weeks in the offseason should get him a few levels).

I would upgrade your regen. Training improves training of all players, but regen improves training of guys who play. Keeping regen:training 1:1 ensure your good players and prospects both train at a decent rate... otherwise the penalty for playing becomes quite noticeable.

I try and get even coaching efficiency... I like all players growing at the same rate... But that's just me.

As far as Sports Directors, it's definitely worth investing in 2 Training Camp specialists. a) you get more players in the Training Camp, and b) they train much better in training camp.

Worth the investment in my opinion.

"a" is a little tough to judge. The number you get is a function of the level of your academy. The variance in that region is potentially influenced but who knows how much. I have noticed crap pulls in soccer in the absence of SDs... however in hockey I have some solid youth SDs and had many-a crap pull.

My Regeneration Facility is at 7 currently.
I will be putting in the Training Facility upgrade now.

So what should be my priority at the moment. Hunt for a good youth camp SD? Or good D coach?

If it's cheap... go for it. But I wouldn't spend any more then 50% of your weekly sponsor cash. And hunt for good Qs too. Staff can train painfully slow without a good EC and without decent Qs.

Sounds good. I'm gonna try to get at least two good SD for youth camp since that's coming soon. During that time I'll try and purchase some decent coaches.
