Thanks mate. A single point separating the top 2 is good. I honestly thought i'd come in second up until a few days back. My biggest challenge is going to be the next few seasons as my older guys start to be replaced by younger ones. The Reign of Kane Billington as the #1 Aussie goal scorer is nearing an end also I feel. Who knows what may happen next season.

A Highland Terrier's (+ League 1.1) Season in review.

A franchise record high 5th place in the league, a franchise record equaling semi-finals in the league cup, and quarter-finals (4th time in a row) in the national cup. Play-offs in the Cup Winners Cup... So pretty happy with that season past.

After the 2-1 win over FC Atlantic last night in League Cup, I've now got semi-finals against TrueBlue. I thought I'd better send my team off to training camp before the end of season - so not expecting to get past TB tomorrow now!

The top 8'ish in the Aussie league have all got stronger this season - if not player strength, it was better facilities and arena, so we as a country are starting to see some results in the U17 and U20 tournaments.

The good news in the new batch of managers in league 1.1 won't get relegated so they can continue to move up the ladder next season - looks to be a couple of stayers in that lot.

Hopefully by next season my Terriers will get their 80,000 stadia under construction fully, having completed 8 triple-deckers - just go to up 4 of them from 4000 -> 10000.

Next season:
I do expect TrueBlue/Prestige/Beta/Colah to be top 4.... surprised Colah isn't winning more with the team he has. But there will be some surprises from the two FC's and Terriers and Knights.

Yes, Colah should do better. I have great resources but the team isn't good enough. Part of the problem is not being that good at the transfer market so the majority of my team are home-grown. Even with a level 15 sports academy, I only seem to get one or two really good quality players a year so I need to be more active on the transfer market but I don't have the time.

I agree entirely,
without players from market is difficult to compete on international lvl and harder at our league too as few crucial injuries could change the winning streak into loosing.
I tried to play the LC with home-grown only and even on VH Prestige beat me 6:1 so.

My team is almost home grown... just the goalkeeper and defenders international... I have not been buying players now for a few seasons so in a couple of seasons I will be 100% homegrown as the youngsters rise up.

Good job...I want have 90% homegrown team also, but it isnt so easy

It looks like the engine gives favor to worst team whenever closer match is on (especially only single shot is a goal).

Yep, was annoyed about that one... 12 Shots on target to 2 shots on target and still 1-all.

honestly, nothing against Uctasa or Atlantic, its great to see newbies get extra pts so they have the experience they can compete, especially Uctasa signed couple key players so..

still, the match u played and if I take count tactic against Prestige in mine,.. will see if that's a better engine at the end of the season

The last two intensity probably played a part. Terriers scored just before half time to take the lead so Atlantic lifted and were rewarded with a late equaliser. Ustasa started out very high, grabbed an early goal, you didn't lift intensity in response. The first game can only be explained as luck and luck certainly played a part in the other two.
