Subject: Fantasy Football (real) 2011

Bye weeks for starters. All 32 teams dont play every week. Besides most people dont like more then 12 it really limits talent in pulling and more on luck of a newbie you drafted because the rest of the palyers had been drafted. Here's an example from my ESPN league from last season. We have 14 teams and I pick Brandon Llyod with like a 15 or 16th round pick. Ends up being the #1 fantasy reciever last season. No skill or thought just pure dumb luck on my part. Thats why the limit of players is widely accepted.

sorry bro I hate to put you in a bad spot with people that overbooked in. Bigger leagues can be fun, but it's also A LOT harder. This is more of a casual league with semi experienced players to those new to watching the NFL. That makes it pretty tough to have such a large league. That's why right from the beginning I set it at 12 maximum.

you've got a spot cjlobo. We have a situation that people jumped in the league with teams but not signed here. I'm not sure who's team is the MaGoo All-Stars. I have every team accounted for except that one. I'll boot them so you have your seat.

Boot me. I don't know NFL. I feel bad getting people signed up then getting canned after they have a team. If 12 is a hard cap boot me. MaGoo is a Canadian manager with a I.1 hockey team. I'll pull my team.

we could just go to 16, I know it is not optimal, but it can still work, have been in a pool where it's worked. having a bad pick do awesome, makes you feel like your awesome. plus with the changing of rosters from week to week, you can cycle lesser picks and still have a good team. it just sucks saying no to people who will play. the more the merrier.

oh meh, this sucks. I didn't want some big drama fest. I just wanted to have some fun and thought getting some PPM guys in fantasy football again would be fun like it was last year. I don't want to force anyone to stay, leave, or anything. I set it up as a simple rolling sign up sheet here and it should be as easy as putting a name on a list.

fair enough. not trying to be a drama fest. sorry about that. I know what it is like to run a pool and have have everyone want something else. whatever you decide, it will be a fun pool and fun to have a pool together for some ppm managers.

I agree you CAN do 16 teams and be fine but that is stretching the draft extremely thin. I believe Eeoulo has it set up where it is 2wr and 2rb and 1rb/wr flex spot starting each week. Which means you are always going to start 3 rb's or wr's so everybody will want to draft atleast 4 of each of those positions. That would be 64 rb's and 64 wr's drafted. Meaning there wouldn't be a single starter left. So if your player got hurt you would be screwed. I have played in those leagues before and the person who normally wins is the person who just stayed the healthiest throughout the season. It had nothing to do with their skill in drafting players or knowing who would be good. Just luck in not having anybody get hurt. Plus with 16 teams, probably only 10 will be at the draft which will mean you have 6 guys on autodraft which kills it for all of those that did show up. Having a couple guys not there is normal but 6 would be alot.

Whatever you go with (8 teams -20 teams) I don't care I still want to play. Do whatever is easiest for you buddy. I will be happy with football being back either way.

flyers, you got that exactly right. If next season we were to go with more managers, which would be fine since more people will have experience then, we would have to decrease roster size and probably add in some IDP options.

At this point with so many people wanting to join why not make another league and let those who didnt get in here be able to play with other PPM members there.
