Newton now has back-to-back shutouts since surrendering 4 goals in the season-opening loss.

Former Raging Pigs captain, Tim Kuryluk, could not be more snake-bitten this season at the least opportune time. About to enter restricted free agency, Kuryluk, known for his shooting strength (279) has mustered just one goal on 48 shots on goal this season through 18 games after notching 128 goals through the previous 344 games -- an average of over 14 goals per season.

Kuryluk sports the third worst shooting percentage of the top 50 players ranked by shots on goal, behind only the limp-wristed Davis Tang (47 shot) of the Infidels and Alexandro Moore (32 shot) of the Hamilton Hammers.

Nevertheless, the Raging Pigs kept the train a rollin and remain in first after knocking off the Infidels in a grudge match after the Infidels upset the Raging Pigs in the National Cup last week. Next up, to end the half season, second place Fleur de Lys, who have yet to lose a single game outright this season.
