I would hope it slows down
Or they will all be 215CM soon... After 18 years of age the growth is basally non-existent. Now it would be cool to have all players come in at this initial height zone and some will grow quickly and some gradually. But if they coded that in... Genius. As we will find this out over the next 4 seasons where they end up in height. Well I hope they made it like that as it would be very cool.

For what it's worth, I did a small sample when we were in beta (really the only reason that I participated in beta).
I found that the "optimum" for ticket sale revenue in an arena with 800 seats (at least early on) was $200-$250 for league games and $100-$150 for friendlies. If you go much higher, the attendance drops off much faster than the extra money makes up for it.
I'd imagine that's probably gonna be the "sweet spot" (150 for friendlies and 250 for league games). If you think about it, it makes sense. That'd be about as much each day as you can get now in the other sports (since there's two games a day in basketball).
I'd imagine that the higher ticket prices are going to come into play in a season or two from now, when people are regularly maxing out large stand ups (the 2000 capacity arena stepping stone) while they wait to build triple deckers.

I did the same test and found $100 was best, albeit for a 400 capacity arena.
Thanks!
It is easy enough to test, just plot (ticket price * attendance) vs ticket price and you'll see revenue versus price.

lol my best player is already 60OR behind the top player in the world and 50 behind the top USA.
I've come to the conclusion that this game hates you.
So with the pro pack in basketball expiring soon, i read up on the features.
I've decided that with 2 games each day, It's pretty much required to have the pro pack. You can't set different ticket sale prices, lineups, or tactics for friendly and league games without it.
I guess I sort of expected that lineups and tactics would be like that, but come on... ticket prices too??? If you don't have the pro pack, you'll have to log in several times a day to change this stuff just to try to keep up. And if you don't (and instead leave it set at one value) you will absolutely lose money over time.
I personally wont commit to logging in several times a day just to change this stuff. So my basketball will be SUPER casual going forward, because I likely won't be competitive.
I mean sure if i extended my handball pro pack for a year, I'd slot into the 70% discount bracket for basketballs pro pack, so I could get a year's pro pack as little as 96 credits (which isn't horrible), but all that will do is get me accustomed to having it, leaving me probably wanting to extend it at full price later on.
No thanks.
There's a fine line between offering paid features as a convenience and turning people off. That line is different for each person. Basketball crossed my line. So i won't even begin paying money for it.
Some people complain that seasons in the other sports are too long. I can see where they're coming from i suppose (I personally don't mind it)... but in my opinion, the structure of basketball is just a money hungry solution for this.
It's funny, because one thing you can say about ppm for sure, is that with each release of each new sport, they get better and better about extracting money from this website. I mean even if you don't pay for the pro pack in basketball, and you instead log in several times a day to set your stuff up... That gives them increased page views, and therefore increases their ad revenue. So they win either way really.
I'd just rather it be google (our whoever they get their ad revenue from) paying them in this case.

I saw my 15 yo SA pull grow 1 cm after about 7 days.
To be fair, I think there is a diminishing marginal return for PPM to create more sports. It is not too likely that many people will continue to invest in more propacks as they create more sports. At best, people that don't like hockey, soccer, or handball (in general or just the PPM versions) might like basketball. For some sports, they might increase the number of accounts from a particular country, like perhaps the effect developing baseball would have on attracting managers from the United States (though hockey is my favorite sport). Even so, it takes money to pay people to program the new sports and maintain the expanded servers.
I mean I sure don't blame PPM for setting up basketball the way they did. Sure if you don't have PRO getting on multiple times a day (which is what I do anyways) just to set things right will get tiresome extremely quickly, but seriously??
I know lanky didn't ask for a league game evryday, but a lot of people did (although I don't think a lot of US people did) and that is what PPM gave and it's obvious that they can't do away with friendlies or tournament matches sooo... yeah that happened.
What I propose for the next sport is international competitions for Division 2 and 3. It's a bit tricky because I doubt this would be easy concept design or implementation, but would work really well with the setup of 4 league games a week like in handball.

Just so everyone out there knows: I have the most inconsistent group of players in PPM. Every time i have a player show up big in a game, he takes a 3 games vacation after. i have a new starting line up everyday and consistently keep moving player to the different positions that coincides with their skills.
Lot of good beefs here so I will add 1 or 2 more. Who was the idiot that designed the initial assignment of players? Holy crap! I know that until scouting the Qs aren't right but the training is showing them to be close. I got 2 guys with average Qs over 50. I have guys with Qs of 1. My stars are guys I would cut. I am soured on this game from the start. Also one would think that the sponsor monies would be in line with the level of the league. Not. There is no advantage to being in a higher league. Maybe if a team stays in after the first season sponsor money will fall in line but a team getting promoted will get a huge jump by receiving league bonus and appropriate league money. There will be a huge monetary advantage for teams getting promoted.
Teams should have been a lot more equal in talent to start so that the difference in them would be managerial decisions. The sponsor monies should have league level appropriate so that promoted 2nd season teams wouldn't get such a big advantage.

That would be nice if this crappy team could win. I just logged on again today was met by the ad wanting us players to tell what a great game how pleased I am with the game. The other 3 I am happy with but basketball? No way. My team has NO players that should remain on the team. Every single one of the I started with fits in the the D category of the draft or 1 star at most. I am tempted to give up the team and start fresh. What kind of fun is it when you know you will have nothing for at least 3 seasons and won't be competitive at the lowest level for 1 or 2 more? No money. No talent. No Q so that attributes can get better. No fun. What a crock of crap. I can't endorse that. Like a dummy I paid for the whole year of pro pack. Fortunately it wasn't that expensive. I am really disappointed in Basketball. One would expect a fairly level playing field when a game starts fresh but that is not the case. Even if I pull 5 straight A+ 5 star recruits from the SA they would be 2-300 days until their OR reaches what these for crap players are at now. By then my pro pack is gone, my team is a year behind the better teams, and I won't have any choice to buy cast offs to get competitive. I am totally dissatisfied with basketball.
I don't really like basketball either for a lot of reasons, so I'm perfectly fine just slowly building up my team, while hanging out in lower leagues of little/no consequence (I started out in IV.8... I guess that's what I get for picking the "i don't care where I start" option).
As for what tescosamoa said about the "OTR bonus," he's right in theory, but wrong in practice. Consider that my OTR is 65.57 right now. That's higher than EVERY team in your division (II.2) except for Erratic Emus.
And I'm 2 leagues lower... with a team rating that's worse than your league average. So yeah... the OTR per win advantage isn't really that meaningful.

I had my 1st overtime game today (squeaked out with a 1 point OT win).
I really don't understand why basketball has "forfeits" in the point structure.
I seriously can't even imagine a time when a team will forfeit. At the same time, OT losses are = to regulation losses. That all just seems effed up.
Wouldn't it make more sense to have losses worth zero points, OT losses worth 1, and wins and OT wins worth 2 points?
