The solution is, if you think your NT manager is telling you how to use your players and you don't like it, don't vote for him.

Part of managing a team is being able to put together a team, and part of putting together a team includes dealing with issues like energy.

If you want to separate it the NT energy from the regular, then let's just remove energy from the game, why not? it's only fair right. Why should the NT manager not have to deal with energy but we do?

Leave the NT energy alone, and teams who are upset about it, vote for a different NT manager if you don't like how they are running things. This is a player driven issue, and should have a player driven solution

I mean, this is the WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS. It's supposed to be hard. It's supposed to be difficult. Why would we make it "easy" just because people are getting their feelings hurt?

I agree with all what You are saying, the main issue belongs to the use of such talented players of your team in Big competitions where it's war out there. Such a pity You fail in semi final of PO (CL or your local championship) just because You had to choose from lower importance or not putting your superstar on the Ice...Some guys bust their ass off to reach some level and just can't make it because of this issue.

You guys worked hard to build a team for WC. He played hard on energy till he won the CL...He succeeded and You guys got relegated

One Guy is on top of everything whereas the whole nation has suffered from it.

And that was our choice to use his players. And he played his players the way he wanted to, we never forced any demands on him.

Guess what, his players were still some of the highest energy on our team, without us giving him any directions to do so. Our lowest energy players came from other teams

The managers have a choice to make, do I want to use this player to win my playoff game, or do I want to wait and see him play at the NT level? It is difficult to satisfy every manager, but it should be up to the NT manager to make his managers happy, not PPM. Or the managers should vote for someone new in office.

Why take away that aspect of the game, energy management is important for every team, and it should be even more so if they care or want to participate with the NT

This all is true but the same thing happens in real life as well. No team gets the best players ( not finland where I was the NT manager) but that is life. The same applies with every NT team in real life as well while they are still playing Stanley cup in NHL. Some players get to WC but are already worn out because long season.

On my opinion this system is OK and the same for everyone.

u are wright. Maybe there can be some kind of bonuses for players who play at wc!
So managers can save some energy cose they want more then now to see their players in nt wc.

I would never put pressure or even ask any manager to sacrifice their players for NT.

yes! a shutout against much stronger team is unrealistic. i am not talking about a difference like in your example Russia against Germany. thats a bad example. cause Germany isnt so weak like 20 years ago and because on this day not Russia played against Germany , Kovalchuk played against them, Radulov played against them, Afinogenov..... They did not play as a team. Germany played as a team. They played every game on very high, Russia played his first two games on very, very low!!!! They played haughtily! Endras is a good goalie, but in this game he did not need a good day for a shutout.

What is for you an outsider? If you mean Swiss against Russia you are right. But not Russia(on their best game) against Lithuania or Poland. There is no need that the weaker defenders leave their zone to get 2 on 0 situations. Speed and some excellent passes are enough.
And now imagine Luongo playing for Poland against Russia on top of their game. Do you really believe that Luongo would get a shutout? Forget your tight defense and good days.

Maybe i was wrong as i said that 2 Goals are realistic, it should be 10


The problem in this PPM <-> real hockey discussion is to find out what it means in numbers to be Poland, Russia or Canada..... i agree it isnt easy, but to compare Germany against Russia with that Top Gun vs. dinomo game isnt right for sure.

It was a biproduct of the changes they made. Match importance now plays a huge role in the outcome of a game - as it should considering the amount of energy it will drain.
