Whoops. We'll I suppose it is a tribute in a way to one of the best teams the Untied States has ever had. In any case I will change the arena.
Just want to get a feel how many people pay attention to the USA and the three national teams?
I think it's pretty much limited to the people that are active in the forums.
Same as in real life - no one cares much about national teams except during the Olympics.
There are a few of us that care. It is hard to care if you don't have a player on the teams or even a chance of having a player on a team.
soccer and hockey are mainly the old farts that used to be very active in forums would come and read.
ppl who didnt start at the first season have almost zero chances to have a player in the NT team so they dont care.
What i have tried is to get players from more than a few teams to get people motivated. Worked at some extension but not much really...

You don't have to have started in season 1 - you just need to have elite facilities. There are relatively newer teams that are starting to produce national team quality talent since they have finally developed elite facilities. Those teams can't compete in I.1 or afford the world class prospects, but they can produce and personally develop national team caliber players. I had starters on the U18 team for the first time last season.
*Facilities in progress are rounded up.

Level 13 and sometimes level 12 can still produce NT caliber talents, if usually less frequently. I don't discriminate based on sports academy level. There are a fair amount of newer teams in the above list. The Dooshnozzles and Rainbow Unicorns would also be on the list as newer teams if they hadn't folded. The generational talent from two years ago, Verne Neely, came from the Medvescak Zagreb, formerly from II.1; they also produced Funk who is a promising center on the U18 team this season. A few teams from division II tend to have promising players that aren't trained at 2:1:1 or neglect shooting for forwards or something like that.

While I consider training facility and regeneration facility, I don't give them too much weight, but the better players (on their original teams) do tend to come from these teams with the occasional exception like Neely. There are quite a few relatively newer teams up there, though it did take them ~10-15 seasons to start being capable of producing NT caliber talent.

sory caps, but you do have to start on season 1 (or 2). most people could only reach d1 because many of top teams folded. If teams had not folded those not starting on S1 or S2 would have no chances.
in short, if you started later, you have to build the team in a boring way and wait several real years.
only option is is to not invest anything at all on SA and buy old players and keep buying as u lose them on FA.
As i mentioned to you in a private message before just playing to produce NT players is not a good motivation. One will have to wait till player is 25yo or so be be called. and them it is a "maybe" be called. this is 3 real years of development.
not many have patience for that and let teams fold

oh and by the time they make they become free agents and one wont have enough to keep....
Reaching D1 and the likelihood of retaining interest in the game is another matter. I don't really think that playing to help the national team would by itself be enough motivation to stick with the game either.
Even so, there are a lot of relatively newer teams that did stick with the game and built the infrastructure to start producing players capable of playing for the national teams.

Consider for instance that the likely future starter of the senior team (Gaudreau) came from the Big Juicy Tacos, a team that was in division III until the manager quit.
