Hi Matt,
Firstly, I'd like to thank you for your interest in the NT.
Also, merry Christmas !
I'll answer your post as neutrally as possible here. I would say that in order to be considered for a NT post, you would have to full-fill a couple of key criteria.
The first being your own record and experience in the chosen sport.
I had a glance at your own team's performance. Now, since the sport started you have achieved at best a play-off position of 8th. And a conference position of 4th. I have also noticed that you may improve this season to a play-off position of 6th.
I also wouldn't imagine that the Peruvian League is that strong as to warrant your rather poor finishes.
If a manager came from another country and had a real winning or even challenging pedigree then I would say that your views could be evenly considered. In your case, it isn't happening.
The next criteria would be a working relationship with the other managers in the league. I dare say that your only contact with this league is your above message and your application.
Maybe approaching the current NT manager and building a relationship across the board would have been a better approach.
I believe that in our leagues, we may not communicate on the forums a lot but the team of people running our clubs know the situation. We will pull through as a unit.
If you really wish to take on a position here in the UK. I would suggest maybe asking to take on an assistant role in one of the tiers next season. If your passionate and talented enough as you say then I'm sure you'll come through.
All the very best,
Nige

Thanks for your message.
I don't see how the two games you linked tell us anything about the right offense to play against a combination defence?
Please can you be clear what you would play to beat a combination defence? or to beat Lithuania in particular?
They are good examples of weaker teams beating stronger teams, but the stronger teams weren't playing very good tactics. I don't think it was so much the winning teams were playing really good tactics. I think there was an element of luck too.
We did well against France this evening. We forced them to play very high at their home court, and we only lost the game in the final 30 seconds or so. Very annoying :/

Hi
I've made a lot of changes to the NT roster ahead of the new world cup season. I'm mostly there, but i am still considering cutting one or two more of the older players on the roster.
if you have a player you think i should consider calling up to the NT (particularly if they are 220cm centres!) then let me know
if any of you have any questions about my decisions so far, please let me know.
i'd also like to thank Beddington Park of the Sentinels for helping me scout out and select the guys that are in the squad at the moment.
cheers everyone

Spain, France, Argentina and Norway - a real mix of countries in our world cup qualifiers this time. I'd like to scout Argentina and Norway in particular. If anyone can spare some scouting, message me.
I have called up a lot of new young players this time. I've let go a good number of the older players too. It will take time for the new guys to build up chemistry and experience and whilst they do, we are likely to be weaker than normal.
Of course I will try my best to win our games, but it will be very hard until the new players settle in.

We were very close to beating Spain last night, which would have been a big upset for them at their home arena. We managed to shut down their 3 point assault and their giant Centre Valdeolivas. However, they mounted a strong come back in the 4th quarter that we couldn't quite stop. A shooting foul in the last second gave them the chance to win and their player made both free throws.
Henry Doyle, our starting Centre won the leading allstar for the game with 15 points, 2 assists and a whopping 14 rebounds.
This is a great start, although disappointing we didn't win. I'm hoping we can keep the momentum going when we play Argentina at home this Friday.

that last quarter with Argentina was amazing. small change in offensive from thier NT and the result is big loss in that quarter.
yes the 4th quarter run and gun to catch up didn't work out very well. I was toying with playing with slow attacks the whole game. Perhaps that would have helped. Unfortunately they were always a little bit ahead and we couldn't get that run of baskets we needed to push past.
The team is still gelling though. Things are closer now as a lot of the NT teams are settling in their younger players

At last my first win and a great result for us tonight on the road in Norway after a couple of fairly close opening games. I haven't seen the box scores yet, but watching the game we were generally on top, although Norway did catch up briefly in the 3rd.
I was surprised by the amount of fouls we committed - perhaps they played a run and gun on us and drew the fouls that way.
Anyway, a break now to prepare for mighty France who have a really strong team. We did very well against them last time (lost by 2 points right at the end) though so definitely a game worth watching.

Tough game vs France 9pm tonight. They are a great team! Hope you can join me in supporting the team and watch the game !
Well our game was epic! I can't wait to check the box score.
France played really well in the first half and we didn't look like we could compete - especially after both of our centres fouled out early in the game.
But then in the third and especially fourth quarters we looked like a different team! France just couldn't get it through our defence. Our defence kept us in it the whole game and we edged past at the end.
Definitely a game for those that like to see monster blocks, I'm so pleased we won this one!

Yes. France hasn't played on full yet because they are saving themselves for the qualifiers. But that is the risk the big teams take against all the others. I'm glad we are the first to beat them this season and i think well deserved given how close we came last season on the road (and they played harder then because they risked not qualifying).
We have a new team and there are areas i want to improve on. I hope that we can keep producing good players to give the NT some depth in the future. We need to breed and train some monster players!

Spain at home tonight 9pm tip off. They are a strong team with some world class guards like Rodrigues and Zubizaretta who can certainly nail 3 pointers. This will be another cracking game, especially after our last game against them was so close! Catch you after the final whistle!
Another great game for us with our patient offenses out doing their quicker motion. However, this time we finished strongly in the 4th quarter to take the win
31 points to 7! Hurray for Walker and Dodd, they did very well in front of the UK fans
