But don't you often complain about teams staying in the lower leagues and building up OTR instead in order to grow the team faster? So why not force those teams into a competitive league?
No, i don't complain about that... I was one of the people commenting about it being a valid strategy.
I think promotion is GREAT... I think however that there should be a defined line of promotion. That's why we have levels of divisions, where one promotes into the next.
How many managers in Div 2 who work their ass off to play this game just got screwed over?

I do agree that people in Div 2 got screwed, I guess the hard thing would be to say how would you fill holes in I.1, maybe take the teams that played and failed for promotion, and then go by standings? Like all the 3rd place teams from II. in order of OTR?
I do agree it's probably not the right way to do it, but on the other hand that's a possible 8 spots for the Div II teams to take next season if those teams are not ready for the I.1 level.

Yes, take the teams from Div II based on final standings after the playoffs. That is the "fair" way to do it. The issue is, PPM and Fair are very rarely the same
Those gaps in Div II, replace from Div III, and so on.
They've done a major discredit to both Div 1 and Div II here, and in the process shown that working hard to earn promotion is irrelevant if PPM simply decide to select who gets promoted.

I agree with you on many levels here. However, if the teams are poor they will likely lose most of their games, pick up very little OTR and find their way back down. The contracts seem mostly determined by OTR and less by league so I don't think they'd have any advantage whatsoever.
Maybe, but by promoting high OTR teams, PPM are now disadvantaging lower OTR teams from div I.
My team finished third in div. II.1 and did not get promotion to divI. I don't realy care to play another season in div II, but I'm sure my team is better than other teams who got promoted from div III to div.I
playing in a competitive league such as II.1 where there were a few good teams means that each team will have less wins during the season and therefore lower OTR gained compared to the single ok team that might be in a lower league. This will mean that the one ok team could quite easily get more OTR than the II.1 teams.
So using OTR to determine advancement is silly. It rewards playing in easy leagues more than competing in a hard league.

Hey davgrun, sorry to hear you missed out on the promotion.
Would have been great to have you in I1.

I'm not buying it, you look happy on your picture after all.

@TB I think PPM knows and reads, it's just that we will not know what they're up to until they speak up.
hahah that picture is 2 years old. I really need to update it.
update it? now that's a frightening prospect.... <shudder>
