The relegation matches are played on regular league days. So Tuesday and Thursday, day 100 & 102?

League Cup is played on days 105, 107, 109 & 112.

I'm not too surprised, actually. My guys are way too tired. Four guys in the 60's, and six more in the 70's. Deep runs in the NC and ChL took their toll...my top 11 played eight and a half games on very high just between those two tournaments. I've got solid backups, but 64 competitive games in a season will take a toll on a team. Not that I'm complaining about my good fortune.

Does that 5th place prediction mean you'll play the Wildcats tough? If they beat you by 9, they'll take 4th....

And Doug, I'd like to say I'll give you this last game to escape relegation, but with the Psychos (playing the dead pookinators) and Team USA (hottest team in the league playing the High Headerz who have nothing to play for) only two points behind, I'm gonna have to push for all three points. Not that that means much lately.

Wow, I just checked out the tops of the II leagues. We've got a tough crop of promotees coming in next season:

II.1: The Big Cigars had a great run in I.1 a couple seasons back and held 2nd for most of the season before their guys tired out.

II.2: Grisons United has one of the best youth movements in all of the USA leagues. I've been scouring our leagues for good young players of every age from 15 to 18 for the NT...he's got two of the top 10 in 16's, 17's, and 18's. By season 10 he could very well be in the upper echelon of I.1 teams and by season 12 he could have 5-6 players on the NT.

II.3: Tottenham Spurs have already had a couple stints in I.1, so there's some good experience there.

II.4: Bayern Munich FC has the top US-born forward in Isaac Buchanan. His 61 goals this season is second-most in all II leagues, only behind Arsenal's Charles Needham, who had 63...but Buchanan did it in five fewer games.

Pretty confident you will win on Sunday?

I hope Zomg wins on Sunday or at least gets a draw. I want to play a dead team in the relegation round, so that i can run a camp.

I'll be playing it like a regular game. Probably use a similar.lineup to the one I used against the Pooks to get some experience for a few youngsters befor that all hit the camps.

I have a little something left to play for, trying to move Brennan up on the goal list for this season. With anything poor run in the NC and since only the top 2 play in ChL I will again have energy to burn next season. I hate the way the did the CWC & ChL shuffle a few seasons ago taking our top 3 spots. While Brazil gets 10 spots in the the South America League.

Yeah, I've ranted about this before, but it's absurd that only one "rest of the world" country sends 6 teams to the IC's, while almost every South American country gets 8. They should at least let more teams in and have a qualifying round like they do for Europe...that would make for a much more competitive tournament. It hurts us on a national stage, too--fewer US teams get the extra money/OTR/experience boost, so there's less investment in home-grown talent. As the NT manager, I'd definitely prefer to see 8-10 top teams getting that boost, even if it means slightly tougher competition for me in league play.

On the bright side, we gained some ground on Canada this season (even despite the tie that Corona was forced to take when the schedules were messed up early in the season). So if those of us who made the Cups can have similar success next season, we may take back the top spot and send 6 teams in season 10.

I'll be trying to win to hold on to 9th. Probably even go VH since I have nothing better to do with the energy.

To get back to a happier theme. Did anyone notice the Team of the Season? Zak Aldridge made it an astonishing 18 times this season. That's insane!

Runnyonion and the others battling for 5th, I'm using more younger players than usual today. I hate to do that with so much riding on the game, but the kids I'm playing will be starters eventually. I need to get them some experience whenever possible. However I am still trying to win.
