I dunno, you had a rather odd formation. If you had positioned a couple of your midfielders further up, you may have had more success.
Or maybe I'm just lucky. I seem to be pretty good at winning games I shouldn't win.

Yeah it probably is my fault, I'm just whining.
And yeah I am right there with ya if you go back and look at the very beginning of my season you'l see some surprising wins.

that lineup is actually effective against better teams. It provides lots of defense and midfield to neutralize opponents offensive game.
Thing is that as a defensive formation, it is better playing delay of game and long balls.
Jogos X Death Munch
Defense | 82 x 66
Midfield | 74 x 85
Offense | 23 x 47
I think it failed because even though he was still unable to neutralize Death Munch Midfield.
Jogos previous games had Total Team Strength Rate of 53 and 56. this formation gave him 57 points.
Because Death Munch attack isnt that super great, against him, probably moving up 2 defenders and 2 midfielders would make his midfield strong enough to compete against Death's midfielders.

So ... I had 2 friendlies against same opponent.
Played first with your formation. I won 2x0 playing away.
Had only 3 shots on target and 4 off. My team allowed 2 shots on target and 4 wide
Second game, today, i played a 3-4-3 with a much better team and playing home. Had 5 on target and 6 wide allowing 3 on target and 6 wide.
the defensive tactic seems effective against better teams as it will allow much less shots at goal making it easier for a tie game or a luck winning goal.

That's pretty much what I use it for. I forgot to log in once and played a 5-4-1 against a team that was about 15-20 under my team strength, and it ended up in a draw. So I wouldn't recommend playing it against weaker teams. But it can help if you're looking for a little upset against some of the better teams. I think it also works well for me because I have 4 starting quality Center Defensemen that I can use.
Looks like I took just a bit too much talent off the field and the random bug bit me. Good season batlle Death Munchers.
HA! I'm right there with ya! I had twice shots on target against Smart people and lost 0:2
I thought that the Zucciny Warriors might be the ones to upset the STL Saints. Now I just need to score at least 10 goals against FC Bozewak. Anyone have any ideas? Realistically, STL will clinch with a win or move to third with another loss.
It's possible. If you win by 4 goals, and I lose by 3 goals, we'd be tied. A little unlikely, but you never know.
Caps, don't underestimate the Typhoon. He has a tendency to beat teams he shouldn't...

The Covington Rowdies might have had a chance if the Sterling Cheetahs FC hadn't started a camp. If the Death Munchers somehow lose to the skeleton roster of the Cheetahs, the Rowdies will at least be close. The Rowdies would also hold the second tiebreaker (goals scored).
While the Typhoon are capable of upsetting any team, they also seem to be a bit tired by now, and I don't see the STL Saints being upset like that twice. It's probably not impossible to catch up, but they still have at least a 2/3 chance of holding second, probably upwards of a 90% chance.

Alright. Not quitting. Tried, but I keep checking back and my team ain't dead yet, so I'm going to give it a shot.
YAY! I thought we lost you! Losing so many teams is just depressing.
Yay! I'm glad you're staying. It was really thoughtful of you to downgrade your team for us, though. =)
It's geat that MK Ultras will stick around. I'm not sure that they really downgraded though. They're still at least as good as most teams and within a margin of error from the rest. They already have one of the best stadiums and now have about 133 million extra to significantly improve training, regeneration, economic, and sports academy facilities beyond the level of the average team in this league.
