I am new to the game and understand very little. Any tips would help, I read the guide it isn't as helpful as I would have hoped

don't waste your money on transfers
upgrade Sports Academy and Training Center to have beter players
upgrade Department human resources and economic to have more money with the contracts at the end of the season
sell the players that are unnecessary for your team
after that upgrade a little bit your arena to have more income from the games

euhchepas has the basis right in my opinion. Spend your money wisely. ALWAYS invest long-term. Buying short-term players is NOT the answer. There are 4 facilities that you need to spend the most of your money on early:

Training and Regen (Regen wasn't mentioned by euhchepas but I put more emphasis on that because it helps your regular players train better)
HR (for better scouting and more sponsor money)
Sports Academy (for better youngsters)

I would leave your rink alone until you start selling out. It is just a waste of money early on. The payoff for building bigger stands and accessories is not worth the cash which is so valuable this early.

As for TheChad, don't take him serious. He's just bitter because I whooped his behind the other day . Jokes.

Asked in a PM:
"How should I train my players? I am playing III16 would a good for me to make the playoffs and avoid regelation? Playing some games on High imprtantce because I know I can't win my loop this year... or even next year for that matter but staying with competetion doesn't seem to be bad idea."

As this was a common question I though I would post my comments on it here. First off, you cannot get relegated from Canada's III.16, there are not enough IV leagues for that to happen. Next, win as many as you can, but just be aware of the impact of energy. Playing on high importance now will win you games now, but will severely hurt you at the end of the season. I can vouch for that. The thing with your league is, there are 17 non-noname teams. Of those, 7 have signed on in the past 3 days. You will mainly be competing with these 7 teams. My personal recommendation, play normal importance against active teams, and low importance against noname teams. Get as high as you can in the standings without blowing your energy. The come playoffs, you can crank out high importance and try and win every game. If you managed your energy right, and if your opponents did not, you will have a HUGE advantage in the playoffs. Energy plays such a critical role, those who can manage it properly can do some serious damage at the end of the season.

Alright, also How do you get new players(prospects) and How should I devolp them?

New players arrive through the sports academy every second week. This upcoming Thursday there will be a player or two for you to hire if you want. As far as developing them, there is no RIGHT answer. I generally train to a specific ratio of 4:3:2 (Primary:Secondary:Tertiary) but everyone has their own thoughts. Whatever you do do not just specifically train the primary attribute. Read the guide. It is a bit confusing, but basically be sure to train all the applicable attributes to a player in that position.

That is start. Now, I don't really understand how the divisions and league system works. Like how do you get promoted? How do you get regelated? What leagues(divisions) is that possible> And out of curiosity how do you qualify for I.1?

Last set of questions I promise

Okay here is how it works:

1 Division I League
4 Division II Leagues
16 Division III Leagues
64 Division IV Leagues (ideally)
etc.


To better explain the playoffs, after the regular season, the top 8 teams can compete for the playoff title. The bottom four are automatically relegated and just compete for final position. The remaining teams compete to determine who will have to go to the relegation round.

The winner of the playoffs is automatically promoted to the higher league. The 2nd place finisher of the playoffs is sent to the promotion/relegation round (discussed in one moment). The bottom four teams are relegated (if there is a league below to go to, in the case of III.16 there are only 9 IV leagues, so that means that only III.1, III.2 and III.3 can have relegated teams. But for the sake of simplicity, let's consider full IV leagues.

Given this, the bottom four finishers after playoffs are automatically relegated. The 13-16 finishers compete with the 2nd place finishers from the leagues below where the winner goes to the higher league and the loser goes (or stays) to the lower league.

Okay let me break it down.
Tell me if I am correct.
Winner is promoted. Second place play against 13-16th ranked team in a higher league to see if Who get to be in the league. Bottom 4 are relegated auto. From 3rd to 12th place all the teams remain in the league.

Very correct. 13-16 can still remain in the league, but they have to beat a 2nd place team from the league below. That is the just of it. Once you go through your first playoff it will all make sense.

Very last question. Does it matter if you are online during the game?

Not at all. If you are, you can watch it if you are at home... if you are on the road you can watch it with PRO Pack.

The answers you give the questions I get so.. What do the terms mean like Pulls and stuff like that?

I'll give canucks a break.

Pulls are when you get new players/staff each Thursday. They switch around, so this coming Thursday is a player pull week, next will be a staff pull, week after that another player pull, etc. You can tell this by the Day counter on the Sports Academy or Staff page.

As for how they work, the SA (Sports Academy) or HR (Human Resources; probably know that already though) send you a certain number of players or staff depending on the level of those facilities.

You have the opportunity to either accept or reject them; they're not assigned to the team automatically. This can be a good thing if you pull somebody who's so bad that you can't even use them and it's not worth it to pay 50% of their remaining contract to fire them.
